And so it begins! Welcome to Week 1 of the Perfect Picnic crochet-along (CAL) with Scheepjes and myself…😃
A picnic is such a lovely thing to enjoy… gathering outside with family, friends or simply on your own… And now how wonderful it is to celebrate this simple pleasure through crochet!
This is our ‘Perfect Picnic’!
It’s always exciting when a new CAL gets underway after months of hard work behind the scenes. To finally get to share it all with everyone is such a joy…💙
And in Week 1 of our perfect picnic we will be crocheting so many picnic inspired stitches…
We have gingham checks for our tablecloth or picnic blanket to sit on, we have juicy bobbles like little berries to eat and we have the fabulous basketweave stitches to represent our beautiful picnic baskets to carry it all in… yay!
Everything you need to get started is over on the Scheepjes website…

Enjoy the Tunisian Entrelac stitches which might be a new technique for some of you…
And whether you’re enjoying a picnic in the park, a picnic on the mountain, a picnic after dawn, a picnic under the aurora, a picnic at sunset or a picnic by the seaside we’re going to enjoy so many different crochet stitches!
I’m currently in Greece visiting one of my sons who works out here for a sailing holiday company, so seaside picnics are definitely on the menu!
Here are a few photos to get you inspired…
Wherever you are in the world and whichever picnic you’re enjoying, I wish you all a wonderful crochet-along!
The Facebook groups are a great place to share progress, connect with each other and add to the crochet along experience…
