Welcome to Day 6 of my Winter Walk Scarf…💙After todays crochet we’ll be half way through our scarves. But don’t worry if you’re a little behind, only just beginning or if you haven’t even started yet… just like on a winter walk, we can go at our own pace! Today on our winter walk we might just find a pebble that we might just put in our pocket! 😁 Today we’re crocheting stitches inspired by those ‘pebbles in your pocket’!

I live near beaches where there are a LOT of pebbles…

And the stitches in our scarf are called ‘Pebble Lace’ stitches. I used these in my Changing Tides Blanket (which was my blanket crochet along in 2019) to resemble the pebbles on our beaches. And it’s been wonderful to crochet them again in my Winter Walk Scarf… the double treble (US treble) clusters ooze texture and are just so squishy! 😄
There is a video tutorial for these stitches because I used them in my Changing Tides Blanket– the link to the YouTube tutorial is below within the pattern.
And here’s Salty standing on pebbles next to my Changing Tides Blanket…

When wearing our scarves, this panel will sit directly next to the neck. In this photo of me with my larger scarf crocheted in DK weight yarn, the Pebble Lace stitches can’t even be seen… they’re tucked behind against my neck. They provide extra warmth right where we need it most!

Thank you as always for sharing all the wonderful progress photos. We had some amazing ones yesterday and people have been heading outside with their scarves… 😍 The first grid is from photos shared over on Instagram and the second grid is from photos shared in the Facebook Group

And here are a couple of videos which show all the pebbles on our beaches… and the unique sound they make as the incoming waves wash over them…enjoy!
For those of you who have purchased the printer friendly pattern on Ravelry it has now been updated to include Day 6: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/winter-walk-scarf
And Kirstyn from ‘Miss Moffatt Yarns’ who provided all the inspiration I needed for this scarf through her beautiful yarns really captured those pebbles in her yarn seen here… 😍

Happy Crocheting! 😄
