Mushroom Walk Scarf Day 9 – We found one!

Welcome to Day 9 of our Mushroom Walk scarf crochet-along… it’s the penultimate day and our scarves are nearly finished! 😃🍄

And today is the one we’ve been waiting for. 😃 We started our walk hoping to find a fairy-tale fungus, the classic red and white picture book worthy mushroom… and yay, we found one! 😃🍄

So today we crochet a Fly Agaric mushroom…

Seeing these beautiful mushrooms out in the wild is really wonderful and certainly stops you in your tracks…

I haven’t managed to see any this year yet, but last year on the walk which inspired this scarf, we were amazed at how many Fly Agaric mushrooms we spotted…

Creating the classic mushroom in crochet was fun… just like yesterday we crochet our mushroom upside down so that when we wear our scarf it sits the correct way up!

We found one!

Yay! We spotted a fairy tale mushroom… the Fly Agaric looking splendid in amongst the undergrowth. 

We crochet this fabulous mushroom upside down because when wearing the scarf, it will then appear the correct way up – it’s all about those finer details!

Row 203 (RS) Keep RS facing and go back to beginning of Row 202, join Yarn I into top of first 4 ch made in Row 202, 3ch (counts as first tr here and throughout), 1tr in each st to end, re-join with Yarn H at final yoh of last st, do not fasten off Yarn I but continue with Yarn H in Row 204, turn. [49 sts]
