Mushroom Walk Scarf Day 8 – Those are pretty… take a photo!

Welcome to Day 8 of my Mushroom Walk Scarf crochet-along!

We’re gradually approaching the end of our walk but we still have lots of mushrooms to see. There are so many pretty mushrooms that we’re coming across along the way, so we stop to admire them and of course take a photo!

I love taking photos… my dear Dad was a keen amateur photographer and I grew up with various camera equipment in the home. I remember my Dad turning our bathroom into a photo developing darkroom in my childhood and he was the photographer on my wedding day back in 1999!! ❤️

So although I never followed him in the technical side, I certainly enjoy capturing moments through photos. And I’ve always loved the photography element of all things Coastal Crochet!

Now, with an iPhone in hand, taking photos has never been easier. And it’s all too easy to take too many… 😆

So my camera roll is bursting and I got carried away on our mushroom walk last year when the idea for this scarf was first born and I took all these photos…

My top tip as you can probably see is to get low down to the same level of the mushrooms… then you’ll really capture their beauty!

And I absolutely loved creating these mushrooms in crochet stitches! I really wanted to create more mushrooms in my scarf and after lots of experimenting I was so happy with how these turned out…

Especially as we crochet them upside down! It means they will be the correct way up when we wear our scarf and I’m really pleased that I thought about that…😄

There are so many more possibilities with these stitches and I’m looking forward to incorporating them somehow into future designs…

In the meantime I hope you will all enjoy crocheting them as much as I did designing them. And I hope you’ll enjoy taking photos of any mushrooms you might come across too… 😄🍄

So lets’ get crocheting! 😄❤️

For those of you who have purchased the printer friendly pattern on Ravelry it has now been updated to include Day 8: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/mushroom-walk-scarf

Day 8

Those are pretty… take a photo!

So many pretty mushrooms… Take a closer look and try to get a photo. Think about the camera angle and how best to capture their perfectly formed shapes. So many beautiful details if you look really closely…

We crochet our beautiful mushrooms upside down because when wearing the scarf, they will then appear the correct way up – it’s all about those finer details!

See Day 1 for all the abbreviations. The pattern in US terms is at the bottom of this webpage.
