Mushroom Walk Scarf Day 3 – So many other mushrooms to take our breath away…

Welcome to Day 3 of our mushroom walk through crochet! I’m excited about this part because I was very happy with how the design of my mushroom inspired stitches turned out…

For me it’s always really fun trying to design something that I have in my mind and in this next part I wanted to capture alternative mushrooms to the quintessential Fly Agaric…

It’s not all about the Fly Agaric and whilst the classic red and white mushrooms might often spring to mind when we hear the words mushroom, toadstool or fungi, there are so many other mushrooms to take our breath away!

Scrolling back through photos I’ve taken over the years, I came across this one of Salty next to a huge mushroom!

These photos were taken on 1st November 2014 so pretty much 9 years ago!! That’s before I started ‘Coastal Crochet’ and Salty was 3 years old. They really made me smile when I stumbled across them… sweet little salty next to a big big mushroom!! 🥰

There really are so many other mushrooms to take our breath away…

Just take a look at some of the photos I’ve taken of other beautiful mushrooms whilst out walking…

And it’s some of these other kinds of mushrooms that I’ve captured in these crochet stitches…

For those of you who have purchased the printer friendly pattern on Ravelry it has now been updated to include Day 3: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/mushroom-walk-scarf

And here’s a wonderful round-up of photos shared yesterday! It’s lovely that lots of you are keeping up although please remember to enjoy it at your own pace… 😄

There are lots of new starters too on our fun mushroom walk… Thank you all for crocheting along… it means so much to me! 💙

I designed these stitches whilst out at sea which is a really nice thought… 🥰🌊

We were travelling by ferry to Northern Spain back in the summer for a family holiday which meant over 30 hours on board out at sea and the possibility of endless crochet time! Well this was my crochet project at the time… and I absolutely love how it all came together…

So let’s get started on Day 3!

Day 3

So many other fungi, mushrooms and toadstools to take our breath away.

It’s not all about the obvious funghi. Let’s keep an eye out for many different kinds of mushrooms which might be seen on our walk, in various colours, shapes and sizes…
