Wow… it’s November already! That crept up on me in a whirlwind… how about you?
It’s been a busy few months for all things Coastal Crochet and I’m going to try and share and capture a little of that in this blog post… enjoy! ☺️

Firstly, the new issue (173) of Inside Crochet magazine is out now and I have a new design in there which is always really lovely to see. This is my ‘Pendant Fringe Top’…

It’s a cosy, boxy ½ sleeve jumper featuring a gorgeous sweetheart neckline and tassels on the hem… I’m very happy with it! ☺️

Boho festival chic meets the winter festive season and with glitter yarn used in the edgings and in the fringing, some festive sparkle is certainly added!

As always with the team at Inside Crochet the styling is exquisite. That’s the word which always comes to mind when the magazine pops through my letterbox and I see how the designs have been styled and photographed from their end… simply exquisite!

Using an Aran weight yarn it crochets up super quick too which is always a bonus!

September and October saw a busy schedule of yarn festivals and crochet retreats that I was invited to. It was wonderful to be out and about and meet lots of you! Crochet friends are fabulous…
We had the Spinnng Yarns Festival in Northern Ireland at the start of September…

It was particularly warm and such a beautiful day…

I gave a talk about crochet (of course) and crocheted a couple of Causeway Coast spin off designs…

Then there was Yarndale at the end of September which is always a delight…

It’s such a fantastic gathering of yarn lovers and a great opportunity for me to catch up with fellow designers too…

And then I met up with Lindsay from the Making Stitches Podcast which was extra special! We both started our blogs nearly 10 years ago so had lots to catch up on and with our 10 year blog anniversary’s approaching in 2025, exciting plans too!! 😃

Lindsay has done a Yarndale podcast episode which is definitely worth a listen and my conversation with Lindsay is towards the end:

I also did a talk at Yarndale which was really lovely…

The Sarah Brangwn Crochet Retreat was in October and I’ve been the guest designer there for quite a few years so it’s particularly nice to catch up with familiar faces as well as meet new!

And see some of my designs in progress… 😃

Sarah and Louise who host the retreat are so lovely to work with…

I hosted a workshop for my Yarn Festival hat which was fun…

The Crochet Sanctuary Retreat was in September and I shared more of that one here: https://coastalcrochet.com/2024/09/19/mermaid-stitches-new-pattern-release-💙/

Not quite crochet but a big event in my life was that my family and I ran the Amsterdam Marathon on 20th October! 🧡🇳🇱
We all had different experiences and have different stories to tell – it was eventful and emotional – but we all managed to finish it!! 🙌🤩😅

It was a good excuse to crochet a hat but the weather turned out to be too warm to wear it for the actual marathon!

Whilst in The Netherlands we visited other places and you can guarantee that I can always spot crochet somewhere!

These were seen in a year-round Christmas shop in beautiful Delft www.thechristmasshop.nl

Closer to home there have been some spectacular sunsets over the last few weeks. Being so close to the sea, it’s easy for me to walk along and see this beautiful spectacle of nature…

It’s something I never take for granted!
So there’s a little catch up… thank you so much for reading and following along!
Remember there’s my Facebook group and Instagram where you can keep up to date too. In the Facebook group people are already sharing progress of their Festive Winter Blankets which is wonderful to see…

And Amanda from Mrs G Makes has put together a set of co-ordinating stitch markers – yay! 😃

Happy Crocheting Everyone… 😃♥️

Always love to read your posts, with so many great pictures in them!
Congrats on the marathon, that’s an incredible achievement. It’s also really cool that your whole family ran it with you, what a great experience.
I’ve been waiting for the colder season to finally start your Giant’s Causeway blanket. It’s a stunning design!
Awww… that’s really lovely to hear Tamara! Yes… it was wonderful to do the marathon as a family! 🥰🥰🥰
How fun!
Thank you! 💙
Lovely roundup of all that beautiful crochet! Congratulations on that Marathon too by the way. 🤸♀️🥳I ve heard Amsterdam is quite difficult under foot but its always appealed to me.
Thank you so much Denise! 💙
Congrats on your Crochet Magazine design, your work is beautiful! Yarn festivals always look like fun.
Thank you! 🥰
Hi Eleonora
I wonder whether you have or would consider doing a tutorial on your seaside celebration blanket as i ve just bought it from the knitting network but dont find reading the patterns to anything easy sadly x
Hi there… here are some video tutorials for the trickier stitches… https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLTp25UJneyzAccF9IcaNLYt2IGLLG1_sH&si=0Us6obGXVJaZofDq
Hello! I have a question about the 3d campfire. You use cotton acrylic 50/50 blend for the flames and then 100% acrylic for the logs. Is that due to colour availability or for texture maybe? I have some wool blend and 100% wool that are the right colours (obviously they may swatch up slightly different sizes but I’m not bothered). Thoughts? Thank you!!!
Hi Naomi… it was simply to do with colour availability at the time! 😃 Your yarn sounds absolutely perfect! 🔥
