Mermaid Stitches – new pattern release! 💙

Hello everyone! 🥰

Here’s a new design hot off the hooks and the pattern is available now! 💙😃

This is my ‘Mermaid Stitches Collection’ which I designed as a workshop project for the ‘Crochet Sanctuary’ retreat weekend which I was recently invited to attend…😊

There’s more on the weekend further down, but first a little more about this collection of projects for which the pattern is now available on my Ravelry and Etsy:

Mermaid inspired stitches; shell stitches, wave stitches and crab stitch edgings! A variety of seaside inspired crochet stitches are used to complete this little Coastal Collection of a cushion, a clutch bag and coasters.

There’s a cushion with gorgeous shell stitches and beautiful use of colour changes to create a wonderfully textured and colourful shell fabric…

I also used the same stitch pattern for a clutch bag…

And then some wave stitch coasters and a crochet shell shape…

I used King Cole ‘Big Value Chunky’ in these gorgeous colours and there’s enough yarn in the recommended quantities to make all the projects in this little collection… 💙

The project went down really well at the Crochet Sanctuary workshop and lots were finished over the weekend which was such a joy to see…😊

I was at the very first Crochet Sanctuary weekend back in February 2018 and wrote a blog post about it back then…

It’s hard to believe that was six and a half years ago! Wow… what a crochet filled journey we’ve been on together since then and going back was very special indeed…

The red carpet was out for a wedding being held at the same time… it wasn’t there for me… but that didn’t stop me having a little photo opportunity! 😂🤣😂

I was made to feel incredibly welcome and familiar faces as well as new were all an absolute pleasure to see. It was a wonderful weekend filled with crochet (of course), lots of chat, good food and beautiful surroundings, all in the company of like minded people!

Here’s a selection of photos…

September has been filled with crochet gatherings and on Sunday 29th September I will be doing a talk at Yarndale. So if any of you are planning on going, it will be lovely to see you there!

Happy Crocheting Everyone… 🙂
