Rooms with a View – Part 4

Welcome to Part 4 of my ‘Rooms with a View’ crochet-along blanket I’ve designed for King Cole!

This part is an exciting one because at the end of Part 4 we actually start to join all the views together which is very satisfying! That’s when it really starts to feel like a cosy blanket…😃

But first there are two final views to crochet…

The pattern is now available over on the King Cole website: https://www.kingcole.com/cal-rooms-with-a-view/ Remember there’s the King Cole Facebook Group too: https://www.facebook.com/groups/KingColeCAL

View Six is of snow-capped mountains in the Distance. A room with a mountain view!

It’s been a while since I stayed in a room with a mountain view… we don’t have any snow-capped mountains in the south east of England! But here are views one of my sons shared with me back in 2018 when he was on a school ski trip in the French Alps!

He had a nice view didn’t he?! 😄

The Picos de Europa in Northern Spain is a place we’ve loved visiting over the years and here’s sweet little Salty in front of a snow capped mountain back in 2017… I love this photo!

And View Seven is a room with a view across the desert. Maybe it’s a hotel room. It’s hot outside but it’s cool in the room as you gaze across the dry desert landscape… 🌵

I don’t think I’ve ever stayed in a room with a cacti view! But this was a photo taken on a walk in Corfu back in 2019…

And we love a cactus actually in the room!

Or maybe even a crocheted one! My mum loves to crochet these…

Let’s have a look at the fabulous round-up of progress photos being shared this week in either the King Cole Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/KingColeCAL

The Coastal Crochet Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/

Or over on Instagram

So now let’s join all our views together!

It’s great when it all comes together… 💙

And let me share some of the views I’ve enjoyed this week…

I was out in nearby Brighton last Friday evening and saw the beachside carousel lit up as the light was fading. Remember this carousel was the inspiration for my Down by the Sea Blanket last year! https://coastalcrochet.com/2022/11/04/down-by-the-sea-week-1/ It looked great!

I visited London with my eldest son Morgan to see Hans Zimmer live in concert at the O2. Morgan created the music for my Coastal Crochet theme which I use in my videos. He absolutely loves his music, especially film music so it was absolutely amazing to see Hans Zimmer and all the musicians. It was honestly one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to!

The view from my seat!

We made a day of it in London and visited four museums! London has such incredible museums.

We went to the V&A Museum…

And saw the original Harry Styles cardigan! I share more about my crocheted version here: https://coastalcrochet.com/2023/06/12/harry-styles-inspired-cardigan-🎶/

We went to the Science Museum…

The Natural History Museum…

And finally the Design Museum…

What a feast for the senses these museums are… just absorbing all the views, the colours, the displays and interesting information certainly inspires!

I wish you all a wonderful week!

Happy Crocheting Everyone… 🥰

  1. I am loving the blanket so far and your posts 🥰 I have a quick question about this week’s pattern for the Snow capped mountains, in the picture it looks like you use lime first then sage but I the pattern it states the opposite way round. Are you able to clarify? Again I am loving your work and thanks in advance 😁

  2. Hi Emma, Thank you so much- I’m really happy to hear you’re enjoying it! 🥰 I’ve had a look and as far as I can see the pattern is correct… Yarn G is lime and yes, as you say, that is joined first for the base and then Yarn B which is Sage is for the mountains… 🥰🥰
