Tiny Treasures Granny Square Blanket…

Hello again… two blog posts from me in two days! Yay! 😃

Following on from yesterday’s blog post about Granny Square Day 2022, and to kick-start the lead up to the celebrations on 15th August, let me introduce my ‘Tiny Treasure’s’ Granny Square Baby Blanket! 😁

I really wanted to design something using only simple traditional granny squares for Granny Square Day 2022. And this design is all about those simple granny squares!

The full kit with all the Emu ‘Treasure’ yarn you’ll need, plus the full printed pattern, is available now from the Knitting Network:

Here’s the link to take you to their website: www.theknittingnetwork.co.uk-tiny-treasures-blanket

It’s a classic, small and sweet little granny square baby blanket, but I’ve been a little creative with interesting use of colour to create a two-tone coloured background. And we end with some mini granny square appliqués to finish it off… like tiny treasures! 💕

I earn a small amount of commission for each kit sold. The yarn is really soft and light and I really enjoyed crocheting with it!

Emu ‘Treasure DK’ is described as:

Treasure DK combines the softest nylon rich fibres with generations of hand knitting expertise, to develop a yarn that’s just right for babies and children. Gentle on the most delicate skin, it’s also machine washable and tumble dryer safe – perfect for little explorers!

I found it lovely to crochet with and the resulting blanket is so soft, lightweight and a lovely size for babies or just your own lap! It measures approximately 69cm x 69cm (27 x 27in).

One of the things I love about crocheting baby blankets is that they are a smaller size and crochet up super quick. My ‘Tiny Treasures’ blanket crocheted up in only a few days – how lovely it was to have a quick and easy project!

25 traditional granny squares are made in total, plus the little appliqués…

I hope you like it as much as I do! Happy Granny Square Day in advance and…

Happy Crocheting Everyone! 🥰💙

  1. Is there a way to purchase just the pattern separately? I am in the US and the cost of kit and shipping is prohibitive but I’d love to make your pattern.

  2. Delightful! Love how you take these simple squares and make it your own with the clever two tone background design. Your posts are such a joy, and I always look forward to that welcome notice, like a “treasure” in my inbox.

  3. It is a great baby gift. Fast and easy but gorgeous. I would change some of the colors to make it for a boy or girl. Can’t wait for the 15th.

  4. My daughter loves this – though would prefer more pastelly colours. Please could you suggest some colours – I am rubbish at choosing. Thanks x

  5. I would also need to just buy the pattern as South Africa’s post does not work! Your patterns are so well written, Thank you! Viv
