Summer Sunrise Blanket!

Oh my hooks have been busy! Lots of new designs to share, which seem to be coming out like buses at the moment! πŸ˜†πŸ€£

Today is a very special one! Exactly 3 years ago today, on 13th August 2019, my β€˜Late Summer Sunsets’ blanket was released in collaboration with The Knitting Network.

It’s been such a popular blanket design with kits available at the Knitting Network. Now I’ve designed an all new colour-way… introducing my β€˜Summer Sunrise’ Blanket!

Yarn Pack with Pattern available here: https://www.theknittingnetwork.co.uk – summer-sunrise-blanket

It’s been added to the ‘Coastal Crochet’ Collection which I have with The Knitting Network and I earn a small amount of commission for each pack sold:

The original blanket 3 years ago was worked in Go-To yarn which is no longer available but it captured those sunset colours well. I loved taking it with me whilst on travels in Europe at the time. This sunset was captured with my blanket in the Black Forest in Germany…..

And I was in The Netherlands on the day of the launch and got a photo in Amsterdam!

I then crocheted a second version in 2020 using Stylecraft Special DK in deeper sunset colours…

And to celebrate the 3 year anniversary of the original, the lovely team at The Knitting Network asked me to design a new colourway using Emu yarns.

I was more than happy to oblige. Emu Classic DK is a brilliant DK acrylic yarn which I’m very happy to use and to recommend. The blanket is also such an easy going project and I enjoyed crocheting it again very much.

This time I chose ‘Summer Sunrise’ colours! It felt like the perfect theme for a new colour-way to complement as well as contrast the original design. I’ve chosen softer, delicate, pastel colours…. a little different to my usual choices.. but I absolutely adore them!

With an 11 row repeat it can become a very mindful project but the colour changes keep you on your toes and of course add interest to the design. πŸ˜„

Salty approves!

It’s the kind of blanket you can take along anywhere, adding rows here and there without too much concentration. It’s certainly nice to have a project like that on our hooks once in a while! πŸ˜„

I hope you love it as much as I do: https://www.theknittingnetwork.co.uk – summer-sunrise-blanket

Don’t forget it’s Granny Square Day on Monday 15th August – there will be a new Granny Square Design from me and lots of round ups of other designs too! Keep your eyes peeled…

In the meantime, Happy Crocheting Everyone! πŸ˜„β€οΈ

  1. I have crochet the late summer sunset blanket and loved the pattern – it’s interesting how changing the colours make it look a completely different blanket

  2. Oh, these colours are lovely. I already made the blanket in the original colours a few years ago. I might just need to make a second one, because these colours are so well chosen.

  3. Whatever colors you use, your balance is always perfect and they are so pleasing to the eye!!! Lovely! Lovely! Lovely!

  4. Is there a way to purchase this pattern without buying the yarn pack please? I have so many Stylecraft special dk colours that are similar so could be mostly a stash buster for me.
Almost finished your seaside blanket and love all the different textures. Thank you. What an inspiration you are.
