Hello Everyone…
Welcome to a little catch up with crochet news and photos from what has been, amongst many things, a beautiful week of sea sunsets!

February has flown by and as it comes to an end, I’m really noticing the lighter, brighter mornings and evenings!
I do so love that… and as we roll into March, this really is a wonderful time of year for us in the Northern Hemisphere as we see the first signs of spring and anticipate those warmer days.
Nature everywhere is awakening and I saw these daffodils earlier in the week about to burst into bloom…

They always remind me of my own crocheted daffodils! These were an early design of mine from 7 years ago and the free pattern is here: https://coastalcrochet.com/2018/03/05/daffodils-crocheted-of-course/

Crochet has of course been continuing for me throughout February with two big commissions on my hooks which is very exciting.
And what’s really exciting is that I can share a few photos from one of the projects with you now…

It’s soooo nice when I can share SNEAK PEAK photos of the projects on my hooks right now.
This will be a colourful festival cardigan design for Little Box of Crochet which will be their BIG summer box design this year…

I’m using Scheepjes Whirlettes and I’m absolutely loving crocheting with them! It’s such a beautiful lightweight yarn and makes for a perfect summer cardigan.

There will be more details coming very soon.

Next Saturday 8th March I will be at Ida’s House independent yarn shop in Lewes together with my Coastal Calm Blanket and quite a few of my others too!
There will be special workshops running and I’ll be there to chat and help. It’s going to be such a lovely yarn filled day… https://idashouse.co.uk/products/crochet-workshop-coastal-calm-morning
Do pop by if you’re in the area! 🥰

Last Saturday I was at the Sarah Brangwyn Crochet Retreat. This is a regular in my crochet calendar and it’s held in such a beautiful setting. It’s always wonderful to see familiar faces and meet new ones too…

I always bring a suitcase full of my designs with me! 😅

This time my Blooming Flower Shawl was the project I shared…

Two Saturdays ago I went out with my crocheted ‘Mermaid Clutch Bag’ in hand. It was the perfect complement to my dress and I loved taking it out!

It was my local run clubs annual awards evening and just sooo nice to have an excuse to get dressed up! 💙 I’m not going to win any awards for my running but I love that my crochet can find itself make appearances in the most unexpected parts of my life… Who knew running and crochet could collide – but they can! 😅

The pattern for my Mermaid Clutch Bag is part of my ‘Mermaid Stitches Collection’ available over on my Etsy and Ravelry.

So let’s finish with the sea sunsets I was able to enjoy this week! With the sun setting at around 5.30pm now, the time has been perfect to capture it on the way home… and I’ve really appreciated these sunsets…
All the photos below were taken this week… it’s been a good week for sunsets!

I spotted this little bird as I cycled by and am so happy with how I captured this sweet little creature in front of the setting sun…

Look at those footprints in the sand!! 😃

And a spectacular piece of driftwood…

This was today’s sunset… dipping into a stunning silver sea… oh I do like to be beside the seaside!

Thanks as ever for following along. There will be more creative crochet announcements from me soon… in the meantime Happy Crocheting Everyone! 😊❤️
