Happy New Year everyone… Welcome to 2025 and my first new pattern of the year! 😃
This is my ‘Enchanted Jumper’…many of you might call it a sweater or a pullover. I tend to use the word jumper and this one is now my very favourite jumper! 😊💙

Since finishing it on Christmas Eve I’ve worn it so much. It fits really well, it’s very comfortable to wear, the yarn I used is simply beautiful in terms of both colours and quality, and it’s kept me cosy and warm in the cold January days we’ve had so far. I really love it and I’m so happy with how the design turned out. 💙
The pattern is now available from me in both UK and US terms:

Here’s a little more about the design and why I’ve called it ‘enchanted’…

A big highlight of my December and the lead up to Christmas was a yarn advent calendar which I treated myself to from independent yarn dyer Jess from Hook and Cwtch
https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/Hookandcwtch

It was a real treat and my daughter and I loved opening the yarn together each day and guessing the colours which were based on the theme of ‘Phantasmaland’ with Jess taking us on a wonderful journey of colour through a fantasy land of mythical creatures and magical scenes.

It became our little ‘thing’ each day and was a totally ‘enchanting’ experience!
With the first realm of the Phantasmaland being an enchanted forest I quickly felt this new design should be called ‘enchanted’.
Like in Taylor Swift’s song ‘Enchanted’ in which the lyrics say:
“It was enchanting to meet you.
All I know is, I was enchanted to meet you.”
That’s how I feel about this yarn and jumper combination! 😊💙

The yarn was mainly 20g mini skeins of deluxe hand dyed 4ply sock weight yarn in a 85% extrafine merino wool / 15% nylon blend. There were some 50g skeins in there too and a 100g at the end which I didn’t need to use for my jumper. The yarn is so very soft and such beautiful quality.

Jess will be re-dyeing some of the colourways I used so do have a look: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/Hookandcwtch
There are so many other possibilities for which yarns to use for this jumper design… Any 4-ply (sock / fingering) weight smooth yarn could be used.
It could be made in just one solid colour of yarn or only one colour-way of hand dyed yarn or lots of different mini skeins like I did. The choice is yours!
By using a 4ply weight yarn instead of a DK weight the resulting fabric is lighter and very fluid – I think it makes it more wearable and the jumper less bulky.

I quickly decided that I wanted to make a jumper with my mini skeins and I based my design on a favourite shop-bought jumper of mine which I already had. Off I went, day by day, adding to this new design and adjusting it as I went.

I really loved designing the jumper throughout December and was so pleased that I managed to finish it in time for Christmas Day…

And I’ve worn it most days since… 😅

I’ve graded the pattern to include three sizes: Small / Medium (which I’m wearing and there’s plenty of room in there still), Large / XL and 2XL/ 3XL.
For my small/medium size I used approximately 17 x 20g mini skeins and 2 x 50g skeins. In total 440g was used to make my jumper. I still have plenty of yarn left over from the advent calendar which I can use to make something else.

If you decide to make it then I’d love to see any progress photos!
I’ll leave you with a few photos taken yesterday in the January sunshine… after a particularly grey December outside, the cold, bright and crisp days with all that sunshine is very welcome!

Just look at these blue skies…

Till next time, happy crocheting everyone! 🥰💙

Lovely, it realy looks enchanted! Beautiful!
Thank you so much! ☺️
Looks really great. I dont have your lovely figure so would it be easy enough to adapt your pattern to a longer length? Any tips Carol
Hi Carol… yes absolutely! It mentions in the pattern where you can make it longer which is easy to do… 💙🥰
Love it. Looks great on you and the colours are brilliant.
Happy New Year, Eleonora! xx
Thank you so much Jenny! 🥰💙
Happy New Year to you all. I absolutely love your jumper and the colours are beautiful and makes it so versatile. It can be worn so easily with most other trousers/skirts etc Love ❤️ to you Heather xxx
Thank you so much Heather! Happy new year to you… 🥰💙
Would this pattern work in a cotton DK yarn?
Hi Ann… it would make the finished jumper larger as I’ve based it on 4ply but the pattern itself will work well… 🥰💙
⭐️Perfect. Thank you! Beautiful photos! Happy New Year to you all.xx 💓
Thank you so much Ann!
Really pretty in your colours. was almost tempted till I realised that with a bust of 38″ I was between sizes.
You’ve done a brilliant job Eleonora – what a great way to use mini skeins! 🩵💙🤎🩷
Awww… thank you so much! ☺️
You can have no idea how thrilled I am by this pattern. I have about 3 kilos of mini skeins and single 100g skeins bought in moments of seduction! At last something other than a scarf to use them up. Wonderful New Year gift. Thank you and may 2025 be kind to you and yours.
Thank you so much Nicky! I hope you enjoy it… 🥰
Looks lovely! Where do you get your trousers from? I know, bizarre question but I can’t find any decent ones I like.
Awww… thank you Janet. The brown ones I’m wearing were high waisted ones from Hollister!! I was in there with my 18 year old daughter and they caught my eye! 😃😃 The green ones are joggers from Seasalt! Hope that helps…. 🥰🥰
WOW !!! Love it all, thank you so much. AP
You’re very welcome! ☺️
