It’s finally here… My Golden Moments Blanket, available as a pattern direct from me! 💛💛💛
I know lots of you have been waiting for this pattern release so I’m very happy to finally be able to bring it to you. I’ve used the opportunity to take some new photos and I’ve also translated the pattern into US terms too. Thanks for being patient with me… 💛
And huge thanks also to my middle boy Rowan for sharing a golden moment with me on the beach, with my blanket and his guitar! That was a perfect photo opportunity…💛
I originally designed this blanket for Simply Crochet Magazine for their 2023 crochet-along and it ran over 6 issues last year. Some of you enjoyed making it then which was really lovely to see – I do love a crochet magazine!
When designing for magazines, the pattern rights return to the designer after a number of months as agreed. So I’m ever so happy to be able to bring this blanket design to you all now as a one-off pattern all in one place.

I love this blanket so much! Not only because I used a gorgeous 100% merino wool yarn in joyful colours which makes it feel oh so luxurious and cosy, but also because it’s a theme very dear to me and very close to my heart! 💛
You can of course use any yarns and any colours for this blanket to suit your own budget and tastes.
“Golden Moments” is a term I first heard quite a few years ago by the headteacher of my children’s primary school. In a card to us she wrote, “enjoy the golden moments!”.
That really resonated with me and since then my husband and I have throughout the years found ourselves saying “awww… this is a golden moment” when we both feel a moment in time which feels nice! To remind ourselves to savour it and enjoy it, no matter how small the moment is. 💛 Because life is of course not all golden moments… 💛
It’s all about time with loved ones, cosy nice feelings and enjoying beautiful experiences which can be small and simple, they don’t have to be big moments!
Thinking about the different themes and how to represent them in crochet was a lot of fun for me as a designer and this blanket really was a joy to make. 💛

Springtime flowers…
Music notes…
A golden heart…
Searching for shells along the beach…
Coffee and cake or afternoon tea with friends…
A walk in the woods…
Strawberry Picking and Autumn Fruits…
And then a classic granny square to remind us that crocheting is of course a very precious golden moment to enjoy!
And then they all come together as the blanket is gradually made in stages… 💛
