June is going to be an incredibly exciting month for all things Coastal Crochet… the countdown is on for some really exciting things and I can’t wait to share more with you all…
1) June is the 10 YEAR anniversary month of Coastal Crochet! 🤩 💙 Yes, it was June 3rd 2015 when I first started to share my crochet online under the name ‘Coastal Crochet’ and I can’t think of a more crochet filled celebratory month to mark the occasion! 😃 So watch this space for a birthday blog post on 3rd June…
2) Five weeks today I’ll be arriving on the Sunshine Coast in Australia for the annual convention of the Crochet Guild Australia which is being held from 27th – 29th June.
I still can’t quite believe that my crochet is going to be taking me to the other side of the world! 🥰
I’ll be hosting workshops across the weekend and it will be amazing to meet some of you there. I know lots of my designs have been enjoyed by people in Australia so it’s fantastic for me to be able to visit the other side of the world!

3) Four weeks today the ‘Festival Fever’ blanket crochet-along which I’ve designed for yarn company King Cole will begin!
The response to this blanket since the reveal a couple of weeks ago has been amazing and I’m so grateful for all the kind and positive feedback people have given.
It’s going to be a fun crochet-along. The pattern will be free over on the King Cole website so everyone will be able to access the pattern and is very welcome to crochet along.

I’ll already be in Australia on release day as I’m flying out with my family a couple of weeks before the crochet convention. I’m hoping for some photos on location Down Under! 😃☀️☀️☀️
4) The Festival Cardigan boxes for the cardigan I designed for Little Box of Crochet will be sent out in June. I can’t wait to see these be made by lots of you… pre-orders are still open until the end of this weekend.

It’s a real treat with the gorgeous box containing all the yarn you’ll need to make the cardigan, the full pattern and lots of lovely little extras too. Some sizes will get two cardigans out of the 8 gorgeous Scheepjes Whirlette’s provided. It’s such a fabulous quality yarn and the cardigan has been a joy to design, make and now wear! 🥰
5) Looking a little bit further ahead, I’ll be at the Carry on Crafting Festival on 12th – 13th July and I’m hoping to see lots of festival cardigans, as well as festival blankets in progress!
I’ll be bringing a selection of my crochet designs and blankets with me and I’ll be creating a designated Coastal Crochet Corner at the festival between 12.30 -14.00 on the Saturday and 1-2 on the Sunday. People can simply drop by to say hi, crochet for a while, have a chat and see my designs up close. You can bring your lunch along and simply have a moment of crochet calm!
6) There are some new designs in the pipeline from me to celebrate my trip to Australia and the 10 year anniversary! My hooks are on overdrive…😃 Here’s a few sneak peeks:

7) Plus, I’m currently working on a very special celebratory collaboration project together with Lindsay from the Making Stitches Podcast and Making Stitches Blog
Lindsay and I both started our blogs 10 years ago and soon discovered each other online. It’s been wonderful to follow each other over the years on our various creative endeavours and we’ve been fortunate to meet up in person a couple of times at Yarndale…
So a collaboration design feels like the perfect way to celebrate and hopefully it will be ready to share with you all to enjoy in August!
So there you go, plenty to keep our hooks busy… 😃🥰 I’m hoping to meet lots of you in person over the next couple of months but I’ll of course be sharing lots online too… Do watch this space on 3rd June for a Coastal Crochet 10th birthday celebration post!

Been following and hooking along for quite a few of those ten years. Lock down brought me to crochet but your CALs and the great video explanations meant I wasn’t scared to take a leap and go further. I love the cardigan but unfortunately bit out of my price range. Hope to see a cardigan that’s more affordable in the future. In meantime have a great time in Oz 🕶️🌞🌅🌞
