It’s here… it’s finally here and ready to go… Woohoo! 😃💚
Part 1 of the Woodland Wonders blanket crochet-along which I’ve designed for yarn company King Cole is now live!

Another blanket journey that I’m so happy and excited to share with you all…💚

Another blanket journey that you can share together with so many people from all over the world as you all follow the same pattern at around the same time… that’s always a wonderful feeling! 💚

And another blanket journey which gives you the opportunity to crochet a beautiful blanket for yourself or for someone else… 💚

This one is inspired by a wander through the woods enjoying the woodland wonders! Lots of colours and stitches will be used to create wonderful woodland inspired textures and patterns…

And here’s an introduction from me to you over on YouTube:

PART 1 of the pattern is available now over on the King Cole website here: https://www.kingcole.com/woodland-wonders-a-crochet-along-blanket/
The pattern is there in both UK and US crochet terms and there’s a link to the YouTube video tutorial too… 😊💚

As always, you can share your progress or ask any questions over in the Facebook groups or over on Instagram.
I certainly encourage you to have a look in the Facebook groups because there’s always lots being shared in them and there’s a real sense of community. Seeing it all is such a wonderful part of any crochet-along… 🥰💚
There’s the Coastal Crochet Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/share/LgCUzwGbSCzMBGph/?mibextid=K35XfP
And the King Cole Craft Along #CAL Facebook Group too: https://www.facebook.com/share/QFepd2MzMNKkomU7/?mibextid=K35XfP

Part 1 begins with rows and a square inspired by our wander through the woodlands! 🥰🌳 It’s wonderful to be walking amongst the beautiful trees…

Depending on the time of year, we might notice flashes of colour from various springtime flowers or see the stunning vibrant changing autumn leaves. And then a simple woodland sunflower just off the forest path might stop us in our tracks…

This week I’ve been to Inverness and Loch Ness for a little adventure to celebrate my 25th wedding anniversary! ❤️ We had such a wonderful trip and we enjoyed plenty of woodland wonders whilst there and even found a bench to sit on in the forest and take a rest for a moment … 😊

We also experienced seeing these amazing woodland animals that came into the grounds of the hotel we stayed at… it was absolutely magical to see them so close! A woodland wonder for sure…

That’s Loch Ness you can see in the background…

And in the morning the sweet little red squirrels came down for breakfast…

So go go go… enjoying crocheting your own woodland wonders and I can’t wait to see all your progress…
Happy Crocheting Everyone! 🥰💙

Sadly they are our of stock. Some one from Etsy seems to have bought them out and doubled the price and added $50 shipping. Not nice!
Hi Bonnie… many places do still have stock. This is a place in Ireland which offers international shipping: https://www.springwools.com/p/woodland-wonders–cal-crochet-along-yarn-pack—starts-7th-june-2024/woodlandcal

I’ve just happened across this pattern recently and utterly fallen in love with it!! I’m going to be making this for one of my best friends for her baby and just know she’s going to fall in love with it! My only question is: why cotton yarn? I’ve only used cotton for bags and dishcloths and am surprised at the idea of using it for a cozy blanket! Would a cotton blend be okay? (Though I do imagine I would struggle to find a yarn brand with as many colour options…)
Hi Trista, I’m so happy you like it.. enjoy crocheting it! I crocheted two versions of this blanket. One in acrylic yarn which is more standard and cosy and one in the cotton yarn. It’s all down to personal preference and many other yarn types can be used too. A wool blend blanket is particularly cosy! Cotton gives a weighty feel which I think is lovely for a blanket. It’s also nicer for warmer climates. Cotton is a natural fibre which some people prefer and is breathable. But the acrylic is cheaper to use and easier to throw in the machine for washing.
It’s entirely up to each person… You can make this blanket in any yarn you like… enjoy! 💚💚💚😊😊
