Winter Walk Scarf Day 12 – Heading Home for Hot Chocolate…

Wow! It’s Day 12… the final part of my Winter Walk Scarf… welcome! 🥰💙

I hope you’ve enjoyed this crochet-along as much as I have… and that you nearly have a cosy scarf to wear yourself or gift to someone else!

All walks must come to an end… that time to head back home, and our walk too must sadly come to an end. It’s been joyous to share this scarf pattern with so many of you around the world and today we have the perfect end to our winter walks…

With memories made, we’re now ‘heading home for hot chocolate’! 😄

Both my scarves have been finished for a while now and I’ve absolutely loved wearing them for wintry walks this past week…

And yesterday we went to get our Christmas tree from a local garden centre… yep, I wore my scarf then too… but this time it was the bigger DK version. It’s soooo cosy!

And here’s the result of our Christmas tree shopping… our tree with some crocheted decorations of course! Certainly starting to feel a little festive…

Row 241 (RS) 1ch (does not count as st), 1dc in each of next 2 sts, (3ch, miss 3 ch, 1dc in each of next 3 sts) seven times, 3ch, miss 3 ch, 1dc in each of next 2 sts, turn.

Row 242 (WS) Repeat Row 241, re-join with Yarn K at final yoh of last st, do not fasten off Yarn L but continue with Yarn K in Row 243

Row 243 (RS) 3ch (counts as first tr), 1tr in next st, (3ch, miss 3 ch, 1tr in each of next 3 sts) seven times, 3ch, miss 3 ch, 1tr in each of next 2 sts, turn.

White squares are a space: 1ch, miss next st or ch-sp, 1tr in next st.

Black squares are a block: 1tr in next st or ch-sp, 1tr in next st.

Side Borders

The two long side edges only are crocheted around.

Keeping RS facing, rotate the scarf ready to crochet all the way back down the whole long side edge of the scarf. Work dc stitches evenly spaced across the long side edge of the scarf working into the sides of the rows. Change colours to correspond with the same colour used in each part of the scarf. At end of the side edge fasten off.

Keeping RS facing rotate scarf and join yarn to bottom of opposite long side edge of scarf. Repeat above instructions for the next long side edge working dc stitches evenly across side edge and changing colours corresponding to the colour used in each part of scarf, at end of side edge, fasten off and weave in all ends.
