Winter Walk Scarf Day 9 – Footprints in the Sand…

Welcome to Day 9 of my Winter Walk Scarf!

Today, as we continue our winter walk, we’re leaving ‘footprints in the sand’…πŸ˜€πŸ’›πŸ’›

Did any of you have an Advent calendar to open yesterday? I do love advent calendars – little daily treats in the lead up to Christmas and this scarf design came about because I treated myself to an advent mini skeins yarn box from β€˜Miss Moffatt Yarns’ last year… so if any of you have a yarn advent, this is the perfect project for those yarns!

Today we return to some filet crochet, just like in Day 1 and Day 4. This time the pattern is not symmetrical so do pay attention to those right and wrong sides. With the filet crochet blocks we’re creating little footprints within the pattern. I really did have fun designing these little feet…πŸ˜„

And it’s not just us that leave footprints behind in the sand… just look at these perfect bird footprints I came across…😍

Although we have plenty of pebbles on our local beaches, we do also get sand and there are plenty of opportunities for leaving those footprints in the sand, whether you’re walking bare foot or have kept your footwear on!

Here my daughter and I were leaving footprints in the sand in North Cornwall back in 2020 as we modelled my Coastal Dreams Dress design…

It led to this video at the time which one my boys put together for me!! πŸ’™

Anyhow, back to our winter walks… and yesterday some lovely photos were shared. Please don’t worry if you’re falling behind – everyone must go at their own pace and this pattern will be waiting for you whenever you’re ready…

The first grid is from photos shared over on Instagram and the second grid is from photos shared in the Facebook Group – the scarves are geting big! And some people are only just starting out…

For those of you who have purchased the printer friendly pattern on Ravelry it has now been updated to include Day 8:  https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/winter-walk-scarf

So let’s get going… Happy Crocheting! πŸ˜„πŸ’™
