Coastal Coasters CAL… Day 5

It’s the final day of my mini ‘Coastal Crochet Coasters’ crochet along! What a wonderful five days of crochet it’s been… seeing all the little coasters pop up on my social media has been an absolute joy! Thank you to each and every one of you that has taken part and made it such a lovely crochet along… 🙂 🙂

So we end our set of coasters with a hexagon shape… our fifth and final coaster is a simple design which I’ve crocheted in shades of blue like the bluest of seas! 💙🌊

These photos were taken in beautiful Corfu last year (before Covid when we didn’t need to worry about our travels) and I wrote a blog post all about it which you can read here…

Such a beautiful blue sea! 💙💙

You can of course crochet your coaster in any colours you like… I’ve loved seeing all the variations throughout this CAL!

Here’s yesterday’s round up from Instagram…

And here’s the round up from the Facebook Group ‘Coastal Crochet

And lovely Margie over on Instagram has been incredible in lining up her beach scene with a photo of Salty and I on my local beach which I shared sometime ago!! Yes, little Salty gets a feature too… I love this so much… isn’t it brilliant! Thank you Margie… 😍😍🌊🐾

The full pattern for all five designs in a digital download printer friendly format is available to purchase in my Ravelry and Etsy stores. Here are the links…

  1. Hi Eleonora. I have finished day 4 square beach scene but have yet to take a pic and post on Facebook. Last night I made today’s day 5 but just have the last round to complete and weave in ends. I wasn’t happy with my pentagon starfish so I am going to unpick that one and make it again. I will do all this tonight and take a pic of all 5 and post on Facebook tomorrow. Thank you so much for this mini CAL, I have thoroughly enjoyed it and will end up with a nice set of coasters to gift to somebody. I will make them again, experimenting with colours and maybe some plain ones too. I will use up the yarn and not let it go to waste but don’t think I ever want to crochet with it again, it is too frustrating with the constant splitting of the plys. It’s a shame because I love the vibrant colours and the softness of the yarn but crocheting with it for me is a no-no.

  2. Loved doing the first three , over the weekend , then unfortunately work got in the way , and Thankyou for posting my pics , I will get the last two done and post pics of them all together , have loved doing them
