My busy hooks and some updates…

Hello everyone… 🙂

How are you all? It’s hard to believe we’re already approaching the end of January… for me the time has gone so quickly! But that may be because I have some crochet deadlines looming and my hands have been super busy crocheting behind the scenes!

Firstly, some news about my next CAL (crochet along)…

Yes… I will be hosting another blanket crochet along which I’m so excited about. I’m in the depths of the design process right now and I’m really loving it! 🙂 💙 I’m aiming to launch the CAL in April (date to be confirmed). Yarn packs will be available from the Knitting Network with plenty of time to get yarn ordered ahead of the start date… I’ll be able to give lots more details soon so please be patient while I continue with all the preparations behind the scenes! 🙂

Here’s some evidence of all the ends that have already been weaved in! It’s a colourful blanket and I’m so happy with it…

Next up to announce is that I’m hosting a one off crochet workshop in Dorset!! This is something which I’ve arranged with fellow blogger Sandra from Wild Daffodil – and here’s the poster!!

Please do email Sandra on the email in the poster or contact me direct if you’re interested to find out the exact location and if you would like to book a place… it would be absolutely wonderful to see some of you there!

I also have new dates for workshops I’m hosting at Made and Making in Hassocks…

They include Entrelac Crochet, Filet Crochet, Crochet Flowers, Rows Masterclass and Basketweave too!

There are also new dates for my ‘Learn to Crochet’ classes at YAK in Brighton…

As well a a crochet ‘Shawl Along‘ which will be fun… a 3 week course in which everyone gets to crochet a shawl of their choice…

There have been a few beautiful wintery sunsets over the sea recently. This photo was taken last Sunday…

Such a wonderful calm and silvery sea! Which reminds me of my ‘Late Summer Sunsets’ blanket! Kits for this are back in stock from the Knitting Network… www.theknittingnetwork.co.uk/late-summer-sunsets

Here’s a sunset photo taken in nearby Brighton last weekend… there’s an old pier, the West Pier, that collapsed into the sea many years ago and the remains are a famous seamark… it makes an interesting sunset photo with Salty…

I’ve been approached by Love Crafts to do a book review of ‘100 Bright and Colourful Granny Squares’ by Leonie Morgan. It’s a lovely book and I’ll post the review here on my blog early next week… in the meantime here’s a taster of an aptly named ‘Baltic Sea’ square in progress… 🙂

My mum has been crocheting from the book ‘Crocheted Succulents’ by Emma Varnam which I gave for her birthday last year – she’s crocheting a whole garden of succulents and she completed this gorgeous ‘Red Frills’. I’ll also do a book review for this soon… it really is brilliant! I took this photo alongside the river in the town of Lewes…

Lots of other crochet projects are in the pipeline… it’s been a busy start to the year and I look forward to sharing more crochet adventures with you all over the coming weeks…

Happy Crocheting Everyone… 🙂 🙂
