My preparation for the ‘Crocheting Around Pebbles’ workshop which I hosted at The Crochet Sanctuary was all done behind the scenes… just like when designing for magazines and everything has to be kept ‘Top Secret’!
I wanted the workshop participants to have a surprise when they entered the room so I designed my pebble covers, crocheted the samples, took photos and wrote up the patterns without sharing any of it… until now!! 🙂 🙂
The workshop has taken place and I can finally share some of my designs and photos!
And if you want to purchase the pattern for these designs, it’s now available on my Etsy and Ravelry stores.
The pattern is for 5 different designs…
The ‘Ships Wheel’ is my personal favourite… 🙂 🙂
During the workshop many people followed my patterns but quite a few people also felt inspired to create their own designs… it really was wonderful to see! So if you feel confident then I’d encourage you to pick up a stone, pick up a hook and get crocheting!
And what to use them for? Well, they are lovely as simple decorations around the home or in the garden, you can leave them in nature where you found them to spread a little crochet joy or use them as paper weights. If you find a pebble on holiday or on a visit to the beach, crocheting around it will ensure that the day is remembered…so special!
The possibilities really are endless – be creative and use your imagination… It’s so much fun and there are no rules!! 🙂
I popped down to the beach at the weekend to catch the sunset and I took my samples down for another photo opportunity…
And look at little Salty who ‘photo bombed’ my picture… she’s never far from our side when we’re down on the beach… 🙂 🙂
Happy Crocheting Everyone … 🙂 🙂
Hi is it ok to share your link for Etsy on our fb page?
Absolutely Lisa… 😊❤️💕
Done!!
I went on the beach in Aberystwyth this weekend to look for a suitable pebble. I found one and now I just need to get myself a 2.5mm hook!
Awww, that’s brilliant Julia! I love Aberystwyth… went there many years ago! 😊😊❤️
It was fab. It was the first time I’d ever been there… Though I know south Wales and Pembrokeshire well. It was a beautiful place to go for the weekend
So glad you had a good weekend! 😊❤️❤️

Thank you so much Julie! 😊❤️❤️
They would make lovely weights for holding down sewing patterns. They make me think of sea urchin fossils
