Gosh, I can’t believe that the end of March is upon us already and tomorrow we welcome another month! I do so love this time of year…
…the daffodils have been spectacular and although they are beginning to wilt we can still enjoy them for just a little longer. We’ve been enjoying some wonderful spring weather too over the last week or so which really does lift my spirits.
As for crochet- well I’ve started a new project using ‘Stylecraft Life dk’. I got a huge free bundle of this yarn for subscribing to Crochet Now magazine…
It was a pretty fantastic parcel to receive in the post!
I’m following a Stylecraft pattern for the blanket and it’s so nice to be following someone else’s design. It’s an easy repetitive pattern which is gradually introducing colours in a rainbow effect… a real joy to crochet!
And progress is quicker than I expected. We’re off on our first camping trip of the year soon and this will be the perfect project to take with me. Crochet at its simplest that I don’t have to think too much about…
For mother’s day (which was last Sunday here in the UK) I visited my mother and she showed me these three cactuses that she has just finished crocheting…
Aren’t they fabulous!? I’m so glad she has picked up her crochet hook again. She saw these crocheted cactuses in a yarn shop in The Netherlands at Christmas that I showed in a blog post here and was totally inspired to try and make them herself! I managed to find the free pattern online from ‘Yarn Plaza’ http://www.yarnplaza.com/patterns/crochet-pattern-cactus
and now there’s no stopping her… 🙂 🙂
And finally, I wanted to show you this fabulous stone which I found on the beach this morning…
The name I go by in the crochet world as you all know is ‘Coastal Crochet’ and it was born from the idea of ‘all things crochet inspired by coastal living…’ Well as I picked up this stone this morning I was inspired to do something crochet with it… I hope it will work and that I can share it with you in time for Easter! 😉
Thanks so much for reading and Happy Crocheting… 🙂 🙂
I just love all of your pictures!! I can’t wait to see what you’re going to make using that unusual but beautiful stone as inspiration for! 😀
Thank you so much Tami- that’s so kind of you to say… 🙂 I hope my little plan for the stone works! 🙂
What a fabulous find. I love little gifts from the see. I love the free yarn, more so because it was free!

Fabulous blanket. I NEED to learn how to do a ripple blanket
Try Lucy’s tutorials at Attic24 Cathy, they really are great, lots of photos and easy to follow.
Oh you must Cathy- it’s so easy when you realise how! And the results are so lovely… 🙂 🙂
I love all the spring photos, such lovely colours. Have fun with e free yarn and I might just have to crochet a cactus now!
Thanks so much Kay- the cactus pattern is fun and easy. And they look great on a window sill (and are much easier to care for than the real kind!;)) 🙂
What a superb post! Wonderfully inspiring photos – love the fun cacti.
Thank you so much… with the weather we’ve been having it’s so much easier to take great photos! 🙂 🙂

Thanks so much! I’m glad to have inspired you to think about starting another blanket. A crochet blanket is always such a nice project to have on the go! 🙂 🙂
That might be the best free bundle I’ve ever seen! It already looks like it’ll be a gorgeous blanket, can’t wait to see it progress 🙂
