Thank you for everything this year!

Hello you lovely people and welcome to my final Coastal Crochet update of 2025 – a round up of what’s been quite a year! 💙😊

With Christmas fast approaching, I’m hoping for some crochet time and coastal walks in the coming days, thrown in amongst the mix of family time, festivities and just generally being busy.

I really hope that you are all able to make time for the things you love to do in the coming days too… 🥰

This was a beautiful sunset a few weeks ago…
And some cosy Christmas decorations!

It’s that time of year when we can look back and reflect on the past year and also look forward to the next and all that it might bring… crochet looks like it will certainly continue to keep me busy with lots of projects already planned for 2026! 😃

The world has felt uncertain at times this year, but getting outdoors, being in nature, family, friends and crochet keeps me going… and for that I’m very grateful! 🙏 💙

And what a year it’s been for all things Coastal Crochet, especially as it was an anniversary year, celebrating 10 years of sharing my crochet adventures with you all… thank you so much for following along in 2025!

This year saw the release of lots of new crochet designs from me:

There were 3 new blankets including Festival Fever which I designed for King Cole – that was a real highlight creating a festival vibe back in the summer…

There were 4 new garments including my very latest which is a ballet wrap cardigan designed for the Hook and CwtchA Night at the Ballet’ advent calendar which is currently in progress… I’ll be releasing the pattern more widely for that one very soon.

Together with Jess, who dyes the gorgeous yarns in the most beautiful colours, and Heather, who also designed a project for the advent calendar, we enjoyed a night at the ballet in London at the end of November to showcase the yarns and designs… it was such a lovely evening and wonderful to gather together!

These photos have only been shared in black and white on social media so far – no spoilers before Christmas Day as the yarns continue to be opened by people who have the yarn advent. I’ll share them in full colour very soon!

There was my Enchanted Coast wrap, Kioni the amigurumi koala, a circular bolster cushion for Inside Crochet Magazine and a lovely celebratory wreath which was a collaboration with Lindsay from the Making Stitches Podcast and Making Stitches Blog to celebrate 10 years of our blogs!

New Granny Squares featured in Simply Crochet Magazine for Granny Square Day back in August…

And then I designed a collection of patterns especially for the workshops I hosted at the Crochet Guild Australia annual convention!

Thats a lot of crochet in 2025 and I’ve absolutely loved every single stitch! Crochet is both such a welcome focus and distraction for me – I adore it!

Looking forward, there are designs already lined up ready to be released in the new year which is very exciting.

Here are a couple of sneak peak photos of a project coming very soon…

Taken whilst I was crocheting as I sat beside a harbour local to me back in November with lots of boats coming and going!

The most exciting thing in 2025 and such a huge highlight for me was being invited to Australia for the annual convention of the Crochet Guild Australia back in June to host workshops across the weekend!

What an incredible experience it was, meeting lots of crocheters on the other side of the world, and fellow crochet designers too!

I was able to combine the trip with some travel along the east coast between Sydney and Brisbane with my family before heading to the Sunshine Coast for the convention…

Kangaroos on the coast!

Memories to last a lifetime and so much inspiration for my crochet!

Then there were crochet adventures a little closer to home!

The Carry on Crafting Festival in the south east of England and then the Spinning Yarns Festival in Northern Ireland are both wonderful fixtures on my annual crochet calendar…

Carry on Crafting with my blankets on display…

Spinning Yarns Festival and my Causeway Coast Blanket…

And then there have been the workshops I regularly host at Made and Making so do keep an eye out on their website:

https://madeandmaking.co.uk

I also have a Mosaic Crochet Workshop coming up which I’m hosting at a new venue which is brilliant.

The Maker Studio in Eastbourne: https://maker-studio.co.uk

I’ll be there on Saturday 24th January for an afternoon of mosaic crochet…😊

So let’s finish up with a little collection of coastal photos I’ve taken along my local stretch of coastline in 2025…

Thank you all so much for your support over the past year and beyond… I wish each and every one of you a healthy and love filled festive season, and all good things for 2026 – with some happy crocheting in there too! 🥰 💙 💙 💙

  1. Just beautiful all your crochet are works of art. I love hearing from you. ❤️❤️❤️

  2. Thank you so so much for your sharing. It has been a joy and blessing in deed from Covid. Always wanting to be able to crochet from being a youngster, but never achieved until I found Coastal Crochet videos and Elenor. It will always be a delight to both follow your adventures and your crochet patterns. Without doubt I am now an obsessive, wool is my drug and joy is the outcome. Thank you for my negative moments with crochet now. Happy Happy Christmas and a wonderful 2026. Looking forward to you new creations 🎄❤️🙏💐

  9. Hi Eleonora
Thank you so much for your, as always, wonderful newsletter. I love your designs with their connection to the sea and land. I started crocheting in around 2022/2023 and have made blankets from your desiigns for my three daughters, my sister and friend. Last Christmas I did a repeat of Beachcombing and gifted it to my niece who had recently moved into a house overlooking Killiney Bay here in Dublin – she loved it!!
So I send my gratitude for your talent and for sharing it, I feel part of a community which, at my age, is wonderful. Have a lovely Christmas and sending best wishes to you and the family for the coming year.
    Kindest regards from Dublin.
    Beth
