Here’s a new crocheted bag pattern from me… these are my ‘Coastal Festival Bags’, originally designed for a workshop I hosted over in Australia!

This time last week I was on the Sunshine Coast in Australia hosting workshops at the Crochet Guild Australia annual convention!
What an incredible event it was… and the workshop for my Coastal Crochet Bags was such a wonderful crochet- filled morning!

Yarn company Scheepjes kindly provided all the yarn for my workshops. And for these bags we used Scheepjes ‘Chunky Monkey’. It’s a really good thickness yarn with a smooth texture and gives these bags a lovely sturdy finish.

I hosted three workshops across the weekend and I’m now starting to release the patterns from those workshops.
First up it’s these bags and the pattern is now available over on my Ravelry and Etsy…

There are two different designs in the pattern. One with shell stitches and the other with a central sun…☀️ A sturdy strap is incorporated and a contrasting edging. These bags are pretty and practical at the same time. They are a great size to sling over your shoulder and have somewhere to carry the essentials…😊
I loved using my bags as we travelled up the East Coast of Australia…

It’s a great size for my phone, my glasses and a lip salve! 😃

I really did use them a lot… even for evening drinks! 😊

For added decoration, circular motifs can be added to the bags. Here I’ve added one of my Sunshine Coast Coasters which was another workshop I hosted… watch out for that pattern soon!

There really are so many possibilities to mix and match colours with these bags… I look forward to seeing what lots of you do!

Have a wonderful weekend and Happy Crocheting Everyone… 💙😃
