Hellooooo! It’s been a while… how are you all? 🥰 💙
After a long winter with incredibly busy crochet hooks, it feels good to be emerging into spring, and I’m very excited to be able to start sharing the crochet projects that have been on my hooks behind the scenes these past few months.
So here goes… this is ‘Dreaming of Summer’!☀️
The blanket is a bright and beautiful celebration of summer. I adore the theme ‘Dreaming of Summer’ and I was designing this during the darker winter months, so dreaming of summer was a wonderful thing to be doing!
This is a blanket I’ve designed exclusively for Inside Crochet Magazine using King Cole Cottonsoft DK. It will be a 3-part crochet along starting in Issue 189 of the magazine on sale 7th May and I’m sooooo excited!
Inside Crochet is a magazine I love and the team have been a dream to work with. More information can be found in the current issue (188)…
There’s a 3 issue subscription offer just for the CAL which is great… go to https://www.selectmagazines.co.uk/product/inside-crochet/ for more details.
I took my finished sample with me on a winter holiday to Finland to capture some photos of me dreaming of summer in the winter months… the blanket showcased beautifully against the wintry snowy backdrop making me realise that this is definitely a blanket for anytime of year. I love how it really made those bright colours pop!
During the design process I let my imagination drift off to warm hazy summer days and wanted to capture as much of that summer feeling in this blanket.
So squares featuring a bold sunshine, summer flowers, sand and sea, plus fresh juicy strawberries have all emerged. And finishing with a gingham border seemed just perfect… reminding us of all those gorgeous summer picnics we can enjoy.
Hints of summer are certainly being felt here today on the south east coast… the coastal flowers are all coming into bloom which is always a wonderful sight!
And what a sunset we enjoyed yesterday evening…
I hope you love this blanket as much as I do… I adored designing it and the different textures and stitch patterns were a lot of fun to put together! 😍
Happy Crocheting Everyone… 💙
