Thank you all so much for the wonderful response to my ‘Woodland Wonders’ crochet-along blanket which I’ve designed for King Cole! 💚
Whilst we wait for that crochet-along to start in June, here’s a new design for you all… something a little different, something that crochets up super quick, something that uses a variety of crochet techniques and something that’s ultra cosy… I LOVE it! 😃
This is my ‘Rockpool Wrap’ – a long wrap / blanket that’s the perfect size as a runner for the end of a double sized bed and it also makes the most wonderful snuggly wrap around. For days spent in the garden or by rock pools on the beach, keep extra warm and cosy with a beautiful chunky wrap…
Kits with all the gorgeous Emu Classic Tweed Chunky yarn you need plus the pattern included are available from the Knitting Network
They have a brilliant launch offer too! 🙂

I earn a small amount of commission for each kit sold.
The pattern alone is also available direct from me too in both UK and US terms:

The yarn is absolutely gorgeous and such a joy to crochet with. The added 15% Merino Wool and 5% Viscose to the acrylic yarn makes it extra soft and cosy, and the tweed effect is sublime.
There are 8 colours in the range and I chose 1 ball in each colour for my Rockpool Wrap. They compliment each other perfectly…
A variety of crochet techniques and stitches are used throughout the wrap, including the central panel made up of 12 squares crocheted using the corner to corner method (C2C).
That’s a lot of fun and a great way to play with colour and create the diamond pattern in the centre…
I used a 7mm hook which means this project grows very quickly. Using a 7mm hook with chunky yarn is heavier on the hands than thinner more standard yarns so do make sure your hook is a good one.
I can highly recommend the Clover 7mm hook which was really lovely to crochet with – I found it nice and light to use and the yarn glided effortlessly.
This weekend I’ve been to The Netherlands for a quick visit to family and friends. We made time on Friday evening to visit the stunning Keukenhof Gardens…😍🌷 It was an absolute feast for the eyes and for a creative person like me it just oozes inspiration! I couldn’t resist wearing my Rockpool wrap for some photo opportunities…
And here are some other photos of the gardens. It’s absolutely stunning and I kept finding myself saying “wow”! Being so beautiful and famous it can inevitably get very very busy so going in the evening was a good move and we were able to find quiet spaces within the park…
And there you go… my Rockpool Wrap! I do always love sharing a new design with you all… and this is one that you can make relatively quickly!
Happy Crocheting Everyone! 😊🩵
