Crochet Socks…

Hello everyone… 😊

I can’t quite believe that December is upon us! I just wanted to pop in and share a little more about my ‘Coastal Cosy Socks’ pattern…

This pattern for my crocheted socks has been available for a few weeks now but they never got a mention here on my website or got a blog post of their own. I know that some of you reading might not be on Facebook or Instagram where I have posted about these socks, and with the festive season fast approaching, maybe you’d like to crochet some socks to give as a gift. Or even use the pattern to make mini stockings!

The pattern is available over in my Ravelry and Etsy shops:

These socks were a design project for me over the summer months, hence the warm and sunny photos you can see here. The beach is in Northern Spain.

It’s definitely more like sock weather here in the UK at the moment – it’s cold outside!

They are a pair of cosy, thick socks made in a DK weight colour changing yarn. The stitches and
construction are simple, and each sock is made in one continuous piece from the toe up, so there are minimal ends, no seams to sew, and it’s easy to ensure a good fit.

One 100g ball of DK weight yan is enough to make at least one pair of socks and I’ve listed different yarn suggestions within the pattern. I particularly like the Opal X- Large 8ply seen below (75% wool, 25% polyamide, 150g/320m)- it’s expensive but really lovely to wear and oh so worth it!

Stitch markers are also essential for creating the heel and identifying the correct place to insert your hook into as the heel shape is formed…

I hosted a workshop for making these socks on the Saturday afternoon of the fabulous Sarah Brangwyn Crochet Retreat back in October: www.sarahbrangwynretreats.co.uk

It was a really fun workshop and the photos below were sent to me the following morning with many socks in the making… they really made me smile!! 😃

Crocheted socks have been on my to-do-list for such a long time, I’m really happy I finally got round to designing some…

Happy Crocheting Everyone… 😃💙
