It’s my ‘Causeway Coast’ Blanket which has been quietly on my hooks for the last few months. It’s a blanket fully inspired by my previous visits to Northern Ireland and falling head over heels in love with the stunning Causeway Coast!
I absolutely cannot wait to share it with you all… I love it so much! 😃
Here in the photos I’m sharing sneak previews of just some of the motifs I’ve designed… I can confirm that since these photos were taken many more motifs have been crocheted and they have all been joined into a blanket I’m super proud of!
Not only will I be revealing the blanket in full, in person, for the first time, I will also be there to talk about how I went about designing this blanket and share all the wonderful inspirations…

Be prepared for colours, shapes and textures all beautifully inspired by different parts of the Causeway Coast. From the incredible Giants Causeway to beautiful sandy beaches, cliff paths and waterfalls. The stitches, textures, and colours used in the blanket capture and reflect the essence of the gorgeous Causeway Coast…
If any of you can be at the festival in September that would be absolutely wonderful! I’m hoping to see some of you lovely people there who I’ve met at Spinning Yarns in previous years. This will be my third trip to Northern Ireland and to the Spinning Yarns Festival. It’s feeling familiar and oh so friendly… a little like coming home!
Of course I will share lots here on my blog and over on my social media too for those not able to be there in person, And the pattern itself will be available on 2nd September for everyone.
This won’t be a crochet-along. It will be a stand alone pattern, only available through me, but of course when people share progress and photos in my Coastal Crochet Facebook Group and over on Instagram, it can certainly feel like a crochet-along together!
I’ve used Scheepjes Colour Crafter for this blanket. I purchased the yarn from the independent yarn shop Lighthouse Yarns in Whitehead, Northern Ireland when I was visiting last year which feels extra extra special! Louise from Lighthouse Yarns will be putting yarn packs together for those of you in Northern Ireland.
Here’s sweet little Salty at the end of October last year with the yarn I had purchased. I ended up needing to get a few extra balls. The final blanket uses 14 balls in total because some colours spilled over into 2 balls…

So there you go… very soon I’ll be revealing my ‘Causeway Coast’ blanket! I’m so excited about that… it’s a project which has been in my mind since my first visit to the Causeway Coast back in 2021.
