Crochet news…

Hello! Welcome to this blog post with some crochet updates and news from my coastal corner…💙

Thank you so much for the wonderful response to my new ‘Postcards with Love’ blanket which I’ve designed for King Cole. I’m really touched by so many kind and encouraging words that have been shared with me and it looks like lots of you will be crocheting along which is just so lovely!

Here’s another photo which I can now share…

The crochet-along starts in 4 weeks time on 23rd May and the excitement is building! 😄

The Knitting Network who I have worked with for a few years now have yarn packs in stock. I earn a small amount of commission when yarn is purchased through the links below with no extra cost to you.

Lots of other stockists also have yarn in and there is still plenty of time… of course lots of you already have your yarns at the ready which is great… yay! 😄💙

For me, the momentum is building for a really wonderful crochet along together. I’m so looking forward to it! The design is complete and the pattern is written, so of course the big bulk of the work is done for me but there is still lots going on behind the scenes. I will be translating the pattern into US terms which I know will be appreciated by many and Iris from Een Mooi Gebaar is translating it into Dutch. The team at King Cole are doing the video tutorials and I have many more photos and postcard inspiration to share with you all in the coming weeks too.

Shade cards have been created exclusively for the CAL by Veronica at ‘Simply Shade Cards’ and they’re available here… http://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1205626874

Veronica has made these for my previous blankets. I don’t earn any commission for these…this is just a nice way for me to support independent sellers and people have the opportunity to have something nice and useful to accompany the crochet along.

Stitch markers are coming soon too! So watch this space… 💙😁

I took my blanket with me on a recent family break to North Cornwall and North Devon… oh so many wonderful photo opportunities!

My husband caught me unawares on camera – here you can see ‘Coastal Crochet’ at work! 😁🌊

And here’s a sneak peak at the end result of that photo shoot…

And here I was actually posting some postcards!!😄

With a wonderful crocheted postbox topper!

And I myself received the coolest postcard through my letterbox this week! 😁 I’m so looking forward to all this postcard love… 😁💙

I’ll be sharing a ‘postcard’ blog post each week thoughout the crochet along so I have plenty more to share with you. Stay tuned and do follow my blog by email if you don’t already, so you won’t miss anything!

We had a lovely few days away over Easter to the south west coast. It’s always good for me to visit a different coastline…

And Salty loved it too!

We enjoyed some beautiful coastal walks… the scenery really is so dramatic and so very beautiful. I really appreciate the simplicity of our days when we’re away… coastal walks, lovely places to visit and the odd Cornish Pastie and Cream Tea too… perfect!

The colour of the sea really was that turquoise!

Now we’re back at home and we’ve been enjoying really gorgeous spring weather which is always a pleasure. The coastal flowers are coming into bloom… yes, it’s that time of year again!

As well as the humble but magnificent daisies…

In other news I have a variety of workshops scheduled at Made and Making in Hassocks and YAK in Brighton so do have a look if you’re in the area…

My contribution to the ‘International Yarn Bombing Festival’ to be held in Milan from 10th – 12th June has been posted off and is flying across Europe as I type!

I myself will be flying to visit the festival in June and have been commissioned to write an article which is very exciting. Here’s a sneak peak at my yarnbomb which I’m really happy with…

Oh I can’t wait to show you the rest!! 😃 I’m super happy with how it turned out.

I’m currently in the midst of crocheting over 200 granny square type motifs for a new commission. That’s proving very time consuming and has taken over my life a little! 😆 But I’m slowly getting there…

I really want the commission completed by 8th May because that is when Morgan our eldest returns from his adventures in Costa Rica with Raleigh International. He completed his 10 week expedition at the weekend and is now travelling for 2 weeks independently with new found friends! 💚🇨🇷

I want to be able to give him all my attention as we welcome him home and help him ease back into local life. He has had the very best of experiences and it warms my heart enormously to know he has embraced such a wonderful opportunity.

Here are some photos which he has managed to send us and are certainly worth sharing… it looks incredibly beautiful and they’ve participated in some brilliant work!

My daughters prom dress has taken a back seat for a little while… but that’s ok… I have until 30th June to complete that. If only I could crochet a little faster!

But it has to stay Happy Crocheting doesn’t it… not too much pressure! Take care… and till next time… 😊💙💙💙
