Winter Walk Scarf Day 7 – Slipping on Seaweed…

Welcome to Day 7 of my Winter Walk Scarf… oh how the days are flying by!

And today on our walk we’re ‘slipping on seaweed’! Not literally because that’s pretty treacherous and I wouldn’t want anyone getting hurt… but on our local beaches, when the tide is low, we have to walk over rocks to get to the sea and I’ve often found myself slipping on seaweed…

Be careful! 💚💚

So our crochet today has long chain spaces to resemble that long seaweed we see on our walk at low tide. It creates a beautiful open lacy fabric with plenty of drape.

I hope you’re enjoying this winter walk through our crochet as much as I am. Thank you to everyone who has been in touch with me and also left such kind and encouraging comments across my social media. I simply can’t reply to everyone although I do try, and I do read all the messages and truly appreciate every single one! 😄💚

And that includes all the progress photos so many of you have shared! Look at those squishy pebbles from yesterday! And it doesn’t matter which day you’re on… it’s lovely to see people at different stages. The first grid is from photos shared over on Instagram and the second grid is from photos shared in the Facebook Group

It’s feeling oh so wintry here in the UK at the moment. We haven’t had any snow here on the south east coast but other parts of the country have seen lots of snow and been snowed in with loss of power. All of a sudden winter has arrived.❄️❄️❄️

Yesterday I was walking in Brighton Marina. It’s a lovely view seeing all the boats but it made me feel very cold just looking across the water! Scarves were definitely needed!😁

And we were treated to a beautiful sea sunset again yesterday. One where the sky looked on fire! This was at around 4pm so it’s certainly getting dark very early now…

For those of you who have purchased the printer friendly pattern on Ravelry it has now been updated to include Day 7:  https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/winter-walk-scarf

And thanks everyday to Kirstyn from ‘Miss Moffatt Yarns’ who provided all the inspiration I needed for this scarf through her beautiful yarns… 😍

Happy Crocheting! 😄💚
