Winter Walk Scarf Day 5 – Winter Waves and Clear Skies…

Welcome to Day 5 of my ‘Winter Walk Scarf’ crochet-along. Today it’s all about ‘winter waves and clear skies’. I love those crisp winter days when wrapping up warm is essential and the walks are particularly lovely. Scarves are very much needed on days like those!

We’re crocheting these gorgeous shell stitches today resembling the rise and fall of the waves with the open shells like clear skies! 😄

And please do keep on sharing your fabulous photos of your scarves…it really does feel like there are so many of us from across the globe crocheting along together, and seeing each others progress connects us even more. ❤️ Here are yesterday’s photos. The first grid is from photos shared over on Instagram and the second grid is from photos shared in the Facebook Group It’s just wonderful to see and there are some Christmas festivities making an appearance too!

So as we think of winter waves and clear skies, yesterday was definitely not like that here in the UK as Storm Arwen passed over… it wasn’t too bad for us here on the south east coast but the storm caused havoc elsewhere. I hope you are all safe and well.

We did manage a walk and I want to share this photo with you because these days it’s quite a rare sight to see, with them all doing their different things. Here are my teenage children all walking along together… with Salty too of course! It warmed my heart to see this…

And although the skies weren’t clear, the waves were looking wintry…

And here are a couple of videos of winter waves and clear skies taken back in early March of this year… it was beginning to feel spring like!

Winter waves…
Clear skies…

For those of you who have purchased the printer friendly pattern on Ravelry it has now been updated to include Day 5: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/winter-walk-scarf

And thank you once again to independent yarn dyer Kirstyn from ‘Miss Moffatt Yarns’ who provided all the inspiration I needed for this scarf through her beautiful yarns… 😍

Here goes… Happy Crocheting today! 💙💙
