Changing Tides – Week 15

Week 15, our penultimate week! It’s just amazing to see all the beautiful blankets being made and I’m finding it harder each week to choose just 9 photos per grid for my Thursday round-ups…

This week so many gorgeous photos have been shared… thank you all so much!! 😍 Blankets on beautiful beaches, blankets in gardens and just look at Bowen the German Shepherd perched beautifully on Trina’s blanket in Canada! The first grid is from Instagram and the second grid is from the Facebook group β€˜Coastal Crochet CAL’.

This week we’re continuing with ‘Raised Ripple’ Stitch which now changes from ripples in the water to resemble the ripples in the sand! When the tides go out slowly, leaving behind such beautiful patterns in the sand…img_9366p1150866P1070035

For those of you who have purchased the PDF pattern on Ravelry it has now been updated to include Week 15 in both UK and US terms…

Ravelry – Changing Tides Blanket

ch: chain, ch-sp(s): chain space(s), dc: double crochet, RS: right side, RdtrF: Raised double treble Front (see below), ss: slip stitch, st(s): stitch(es), tr: treble, WS: wrong side

And here’s a YouTube tutorial to help with Round 79…

Round 78 (WS) 1ch (counts as first dc), 1dc in next st (not the st at base of 1 ch), continue with 1dc in each st around working (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) in each corner ch-sp, ss to first ch, fasten off, turn [185 sts on each side]

Round 79 (RS) Join Yarn D to any corner ch-sp, 3ch, (1tr, 2ch, 2tr) in same corner ch-sp, * 1tr in next st, miss next st working 1RdtrF around tr below it from Round 77, continue with (1tr in next st, miss next st working 1RdtrF around tr below it from Round 77) to end of side, 1tr in final st, (2tr, 2ch, 2tr) in corner ch-sp, repeat from * on next three sides ending with 1tr in final st, ss to top of first 3 ch, turn [189 sts on each side]

Round 80 Repeat Round 78 [191 sts on each side]

I just love those ripples in the sand… πŸ™‚

So next week is our very last week and we will be crocheting a suitable edging for this blanket! I can’t believe we’re nearly there! Happy Crocheting Everyone… πŸ™‚

  1. Oh, what a nice project! Making everything together, week by week… I would never dare to start that kind of blanket by myself. But together it seems possible. I want to catch the next project!
