Changing Tides – Week 13

img_4595Welcome to Week 13! 🙂 We are gradually nearing the end of our blankets…

Here’s another beautiful round-up of blankets being shared on Instagram and in the Facebook Group

And this week are the final rounds of stitches that we have used each time to follow the rounds of ‘Pebble Lace’ throughout our blanket. The colours I’ve used for these rounds are inspired by the low tides along our local stretch of coastline revealing the base of the white chalk cliffs and the green seaweed that clings to them…img_4851

When the tide is in these patches of seaweed are submerged under the water and no doubt float upwards and move with the currents…

Here’s a reminder of the abbreviations in UK Crochet Terminology. US terms are at the bottom of this blog post.
ch: chain, ch-sp(s): chain space(s), dc: double crochet, dtr: double treble, htr: half treble, RS: right side, ss: slip stitch, st(s): stitch(es), tr: treble, WS: wrong side

Rounds 72 and 73 are a repeat of Rounds 15 and 16. And here’s the YouTube tutorial although you’re all experts by now I’m sure! 🙂

Round 72 (WS) 2ch, 1htr in next 2 sts, * (1htr, 2ch, 1htr) in corner ch-sp, 1htr in next 3 sts, (3htr in ch-sp, 1htr in next st) to final ch-sp on this side, 3htr in final ch-sp, 1htr in next 3 sts, repeat from * on next three sides, after final ch-sp ss to top of first 2 ch, fasten off, turn [167 sts on each side]

Round 73 (RS) Join Yarn G to any corner ch-sp, 3ch (counts as 1 dc and 2 ch), 1dc in same corner ch-sp, * 1dc in next 3 sts, 1dtr in dc st below from Round 71, (miss st directly behind dtr, 1dc in next 3 sts, 1dtr in dc st below from Round 71 which sits above dtr cluster) and repeat to final dtr cluster on this side, 1dc in next 3 sts, 1dtr in dc st below from Round 71, 1dc in final 3 sts, (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) in corner ch-sp, repeat from * on next three sides ending with ss to first ch, turn [41 dtr on each side]

Round 74 3ch, 1tr in each st around working (2tr, 2ch, 2tr) in each corner ch-sp, ss to top of first 3 ch, fasten off, turn [173 sts on each side]

Our final 3 weeks will all be new rounds which we haven’t crocheted before, so something to look forward to as we get ready to end our blanket in Week 16… 🙂

    1. Hi Karen… I have no idea why that would be?? Week 13 has been uploaded to the original Ravelry pattern so should be available for you to download… are you logged into your account? Please let me know if you continue to have problems and I can email it over to you… 😊💙
