It’s Week 7 of our ‘Changing Tides’ Blanket! It’s getting big now isn’t it… 🙂

This week I’ve drawn inspiration from seaglass which I love to search for at low tide amongst the pebbles and sand. Those tiny flashes of green that always make me feel like I’ve found treasure! Have a look at some blog posts I’ve published in the past…

Yes, seaglass is pollution and is formed from glass waste which ended up in the sea, sometimes over 100 years ago. Over decades the tides and waves have smoothed the glass into little jewels that wash up on our shores. As far as I know it isn’t damaging to marine life or eco systems like the plastics that sadly end up in our oceans… 🙁

So those tiny flashes of green between the blue sea and golden sands are our rounds for this week…

ch: chain, ch-sp(s): chain space(s), dc: double crochet, htr: half treble, RS: right side, ss: slip stitch, st(s): stitch(es), tr: treble, WS: wrong side

Round 44 (RS) Join Yarn G to any corner ch-sp, 3ch (counts as 1 dc and 2 ch), 1dc in same corner ch-sp, * 1dc in next 2 sts, (2ch, miss 2 sts, 1dc in next st) to last st of side, 1dc in final st, (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) in corner ch-sp, repeat from * on next three sides finishing with ss to first ch, fasten off, do not turn [35 ch-sps on each side]

Round 45 is a repeat of Round 6 from our first week…here’s the YouTube tutorial to remind you if that helps… 🙂

Round 45 With RS of work facing, join Yarn A to front loop of any htr st from Round 43, 2ch, 2htr in same place, 1ss in next front loop, continue with (3htr in next front loop, 1ss in next front loop) all around on each side, ss to top of first 2 ch, fasten off and weave in ends

Round 46 (WS) Join Yarn D to any corner ch-sp, 3ch, (1tr, 2ch, 2tr) in same corner ch-sp, * 2ch, miss 2 sts, 1tr in next st, 3tr in each ch-sp to end of side, 1tr in next st, 2ch, miss final 2 sts, (2tr, 2ch, 2tr) in corner ch-sp, repeat from * on next three sides finishing with ss to top of first 3 ch (after final tr and 2 ch made), turn [111 sts on each side]

Round 47 2ch, * 2htr in next ch-sp, 1htr in each st to ch-sp at end of side, 2htr in ch-sp, 1htr in next 2 sts, (1htr, 2ch, 1htr) in corner ch-sp, 1htr in next 2 sts, repeat from * on next three sides finishing with ss to top of first 2 ch (after 1 htr made after final corner ch-sp), fasten off, turn [117 sts on each side]
