Changing Tides – Week 5

It’s week 5 already! The weeks are flying by and so many beautiful blankets are being made! 🙂 Here’s a round-up of blankets being shared over on Instagram this week…

Ravelry – Changing Tides Blanket

The rounds this week are inspired by the cliffs of my local coastline on the south coast of England. Where the land meets the sea and where the tides come in, often right up to touch the base of these cliffs. Some are eroding at fast rates. They are a beautiful sight but can be dangerous too. These are the famous ‘Seven Sisters’ in East Sussex…An here’s a YouTube clip from the Coastguard agency showing how dangerous these cliffs really can be! Our local beach has had very similar cliff falls over the years…

We love walking with our Salty here although of course she’s always on a lead nearer the cliff edges…

And there are other cliffs nearby too…

These are on the Isle of Wight…

Round 39 (WS) Join Yarn G to any corner ch-sp, 3ch, (1tr, 2ch, 2tr) in same corner ch-sp, all the sts are now worked into the front loops only, * 1tr in front loop of next 3 sts, 1htr in front loop of next 2 sts, 1dc in front loop of next 4 sts, continue with (2htr, 3tr, 2htr, 4dc) 7 times, 1htr in front loop of next 2 sts, 1tr in front loop of next 3 sts, (2tr, 2ch, 2tr) in corner ch-sp, repeat from * on next three sides finishing with ss to top of first 3 ch, turn [95 sts on each side]

Round 40 3ch, 1tr in each st around working (2tr, 2ch, 2tr) in each corner ch-sp, ss to top of first 3 ch, fasten off, turn [99 sts on each side]
