A year of magazine designs…

Issue 79 of Simply Crochet Magazine has hit the shelves in the UK this week just in time for Christmas and I have two designs in there, both of which feature on the front cover…I’m so happy with both designs and it’s lovely to have them in the final issue of 2018. There’s a Leopard print cushion with a hairpin crochet fringe detail…

and also a Rosebud clutch bag…

I feel honoured that these two designs have been put in the ‘Top 5 projects from Issue 79’!

As we approach the end of 2018 I thought it would be nice to look back at the designs I’ve had in Crochet magazines this year. I’ve always had a soft spot for magazines… I just love looking through them and reading up to date and current features about a topic I’m interested in. Two of my early blog posts back in 2015 were about my love for magazines and you can read them here…

How I love a magazine! Part 1… and How I love a Magazine! Part 2…

To have become a regular designer for crochet magazines is a little dream come true for me and it’s certainly been a year of many designs in 2018. Its nice to build up a relationship with the magazine team – most of my designs have been for Simply Crochet – you get used to their expectations and style of pattern writing and it was lovely to finally meet the Editor, Sara, at Yarndale back in September…

So here are my 2018 magazine designs

In January (Issue 67) my Tunisian crochet and Cross-stitch cushion…

In May (Issue 71) my decorative trims…

Plus a back page feature about my Seaside Stash Busting Blanket Crochet-Along!

In June (Issue 72) my Waves Cushion…

In August (Issue 74) my Seaside Bunting had a little front cover slot…

And in the next issue (Issue 75) I was given the opportunity to design a set of 7 Christmas decorations for a Supplement…

They were sent back to me this week, just in time for Christmas!

Also in Issue 75 my ‘Flower Shawl’…

In September I had my first design for Crochet Now magazine… a Tunisian crochet ‘Into the Woods’ cushion…

In October (Issue 77) I felt very privileged to have been asked to take part in an interview…

My Two Tone Coasters were also in there…

In November (Issue 78) my mobile phone case…

And finally in December (Issue 79) it’s my Leopard print cushion and Rosebud clutch bag!

What a busy year it’s been for me and my crochet! Thank you to each and every one of you who read my blog and for always being so supportive and encouraging!

I’d like to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and very Best Wishes for 2019! I hope you all get some relaxing moments over the festive period – time which just might be filled with crochet!! 😊 Enjoy…

I want to make the leopard pattern one, I’ve ordered the magazine for the pattern but want to order my yarn, could you tell me quantities please?

    1. Hi Helen… that’s great to hear! Thank you so much for the feedback! For the Leopard print cushion you’ll need ‘Drops Karisma’ (100% wool, 50g/100m), 4 balls of Light Oak (77), 3 balls of Black (05) and 2 balls of Orange (11)… good luck! 😊❤️
