See you at… Yarndale!

This weekend I’m off to Yarndale for the very first time! Yarndale is an annual yarn festival held in Skipton in North Yorkshire, that the organisers describe as a “creative festival celebrating all things woolly and wonderful”. Sounds perfect doesn’t it… 🙂

It’s a 600 mile round trip from where we live on the south east coast which is why we haven’t visited before… it’s a loooong way away! But this year I couldn’t resist any longer, so together with my husband and daughter (my boys are staying behind), we’re off! We’re camping in our van and will be visiting ‘Yarndale’ on the Saturday (and maybe on the Sunday morning before we journey home)… 🙂

Are any of you lovely readers going? If you are then I would love to see you… please do come over and say ‘Hello’ if you see me in the crowds. This is the hat I’ll be wearing – a new crocheted design so hopefully you’ll recognise me! 🙂

I’ll be taking my ‘Seaside Stash Busting Blanket’ with me too…

So much inspiration, so many photo opportunities and hopefully the chance to meet lots of like-minded people… I can’t wait!

Hope to see some of you there. Do let me know if you’re coming… 🙂 💙

  2. You’ll love it! I went for the first time last year (there’s a little montage on my YouTube channel if you want a sneak peek!) and just decided to go again this year – on the Sunday – I’ll look out for your hat!!

  3. Have a great time Eleonora, I went last year (can’t make it this) and loved it. I also wanted to say thank you for your ‘crocheting around pebbles’ blog – I’ve just bought the pattern and am excited to see if I can manage to crochet around a conker or two! I’ve just started my own little blog. I love the way you balance nature and crochet in your posts. Thanks for the inspiration 🙂 x

      1. Thanks for the link Eleonora, they are gorgeous! And you’ve captured the shape brilliantly. Will have to add them to my crochet ‘to do’ list… Enjoy Yarndale! 🙂 xx

  4. Eleonora, I know you will have a great time. And I know your SSBB will be a Big Hit! Nice that you aren’t making that long drive by yourself. And the hat is Cute! If only I didn’t look dorky in hats!!

      1. No need for apprehension. You will fit right in like a hand in a glove. (Just be prepared to become a crochet rock star!) Will say a little prayer for you. 😇
        😘

  5. I went two years ago, all the way from Australia! I planned our whole five week itinerary so we would be close to Skipton that weekend. I had an amazing day. I’ve never seen so much yarn! Have a great time.

  6. SO wish I could go! But I live on West Coast USA, so it’s a bit out of the question….but this is the ONE yarn festival I would so love to go to! I guess hotel rooms around there are pretty scarce and probably pricey, right? Maybe I could find someone to share a room to cut down the cost a bit….will keep hoping – maybe one of these years I may just treat myself…it’s definitely on my “bucket list”!
But I am doing a Crochet/Crafty Cruise in Australia early next year – so I do treat myself once in a while!
Have fun! So much eye candy! So many yarns to see and feel and drool over! Enjoy for me, please!

    1. Hi Carol… we had our first day yesterday and it was wonderful! I drooled over lots of yarns for you!😆😉 It was a feast for the eyes and lovely to meet so many likeminded people… your cruise sounds amazing too – enjoy! As for accommodation here, we camped so it was very reasonable (but cold!) …Local hotels etc are probably full but I don’t think they put their prices up… just need to book early! Thank you….😊❤️
