Seaside Stash Busting Blanket – Week 34

It’s Week 34, our penultimate week, and I’m sure many of you probably knew what was coming…πŸ˜†… yes, our final two rows of granny stitches. And this time, for me these are apricot and mint ice cream! And then we end the week with the 2 coloured rows made up of 3 rows. We’ve used these throughout the blanket although not since the beginning of July… I really wanted to squeeze them in one last time!

Last weekend we enjoyed some late summer sunshine! My own blanket is now finished as I’ve usually been a few weeks ahead to make sure that the photos and pattern are all ready for sharing. I took my finished blanket down to the beach and my children turned photographers and took some photos of me with it which I’m pretty pleased with. I’ll be sharing those next week but here’s a couple which I took…

As usual here’s the weeks round-up from Instagram and what a gorgeous round-up of blankets we have this week!

I couldn’t resist the outside photos, especially the visits to the seaside!! These blankets have been to some beautiful places! πŸ’™And there are two finished blankets in this round-up too – aren’t they wonderful!

So at the end of row 148 we joined with a new colour but DID NOT made a turning chain. This is so we can make a slip stitch (ss) at the start of this next row (into the first space) to get the hook into the right position so that we can then get 60 x 3tr groups in this next row…Remember it’s UK crochet terminology.

Row 149 1ss in next space, 3ch (counts as first st), 2tr in same space, continue with 3tr in space between each 3tr group to end, including final space between the last 3tr group and the last single tr st, join with a new colour at end of final st, 3ch, turn (60 x 3tr groups, 180 sts)

.
Row 150 Miss 2 sts, 3tr in space between each 3tr group to end, miss 2 sts, 2tr in final st joining with a new colour at end of final st, 3ch, turn (59 x 3tr groups with 1 tr at start of row and 2 tr at end, 180 sts)

Row 151 1tr in each st to end, DO NOT cut yarn at end of row but do join with a new colour at end of final st, NO turning ch, turn (180 sts)

.

Row 152 1tr in next st, continue with (1ss in next st, 1tr in next st) and repeat to end, the final st will be a tr, fasten off yarn, DO NOT turn work

.

Row 153 Go back to beginning of Row 152 and pick up / re-join the yarn used in Row 151, 3ch (counts as first st), continue with 1tr in each st to end, join with a new colour at end of final st, 3ch, turn (180 sts)

I really can’t believe that we’re nearly at the end… what a journey it’s been and sharing it with each other and so many of you is what’s made it so special!!

So next week we’ll have 4 final rows and then the edging… and in the meantime don’t forget to weave in all those ends!

Happy Crocheting Everyone… 😊❀️
