Hope you’ve all had a good week… it’s Week 24 and yes I’m sure it’s no surprise that we’re continuing with our Long Waves… 🌊 🙂
But first here’s this weeks round up of blankets from Instagram. And there are two completed projects included! On the left Lyn @lyncrow1 has made the blanket in a smaller baby size and it’s all finished with a beautiful shell edging, and bottom left @pangolin_at_home has transformed her blanket into a fabulous cushion cover! There are the beautiful outdoor shots as well as the relaxing indoor ones too…
So at the end of Row 100 you should have made 1ch which counts as the first dc (US sc) of this next row.
Remember I use UK terminology… dtr=double treble (US treble), tr=treble (US double crochet), htr= half treble (US half double), dc=double crochet (US single crochet)

Row 101 1htr in next 2 sts, continue with (2tr, 3dtr, 2tr, 2htr, 3dc, 2htr) and repeat to end, the final st will be a htr, 1ch, (counts as first dc of next row- you may want to put a stitch marker in this ch so it is easier to recognise as a stitch when crocheting back into it after next row), turn.
(Remember at the end of row 101 that the final stitch to crochet into is that little 1 ch we made at the end of row 99)

Row 102 1dc in each st to end, join with a new colour at end of final st, 4ch (counts as first dtr of next row), turn.
Row 103 1tr in next 2 sts, continue with (2htr, 3dc, 2htr, 2tr, 3dtr, 2tr) and repeat to end, the final st will be a tr, 1ch (counts as first dc of next row- you may want to put a stitch marker in this ch so it is easier to recognise as a stitch when crocheting back into it after next row), turn
(and remember at the end of row 103 that the final stitch to crochet into is that little 1 ch we made at the end of row 101)

Thought I’d just pop in and report that I am keeping up, but as I’m off social media (except for blogging) currently I’m not seeing any of the pics on facebook any more. I love the way some of the blankets are photographed – it’s really inspiring! Mine’s looking great, though it got a bit wobbly on the edges when for some unknown reason I decided to add, then subtract extra stitches when I wasn’t paying proper attention to my work. Still, I think I shall just even all that out with a kind of tidal border at the end 🙂
Hello! So lovely to hear from you… I love your idea of a tidal border!! 😆🤣 The edging will sort out those wobbly edges so don’t worry! I bet your break from social media is giving you so much time… do you ever plan to go back? 😊💙💙
My wobblies added about 10cm to my width at one point 🙂 My border will be quite wide 🙂
I’m not planning to return to any social media (apart from blogging) any time soon Eleonora – I reckon Ito have found an extra three hours every day. I was shocked at how much time I spent wandering around the ether….. Those found hours have allowed me to complete one blanket, make an etui doll, begin two paintings and read a book that had been waiting to be read for months. And I’ve also found more energy – a completely unexpected side effect 🙂 I love my blogging community though and have no plans to give that up. I’ll include a photo of my blanket in my next post and link across to you again then.

Hi everyone. I’ve only just discovered Eleonora’s blog and think it is great. the blanket is now on week 24 can anyone tell me how to copy and save all the instructions from week 1 to date ? I have a laptop and a tablet but am not very computer wise. Kath Storey

You gots such a beyootiful blog. Must be that salt air supplying extra creativity to your brain cells. I am still waiting for the bay to do something similar for my grey matter. So far it has inspired one small quilt. Maybe I should go for a swim and snort a little up my nose!

Hi Eleanora. Hope you and your family are remaining well? Thank goodness for your wonderful crochet blankets to keep us happy! I started, if you can remember, mine after a visit to the Isle of Wight last year and meeting two ladies taking a photograph of a completed blanket. Still very much enjoying doing mine after having been inspired by them and now on, albeit dragging behind a bit, on week 24. Going very well and it is giving me endless pleasure. Again many thanks.
