Seaside Stash Busting Blanket – Week 20

IMG_6288

Week 20 and we’re now well over half way through our blanket! Many people predicted that we’d be starting this week with a couple more shell rows – and of course they were right! 🙂 And we end the week with a couple of rows which I’ve crocheted in white to represent the huge white chalk cliffs along our local stretch of coastline…

And here’s the usual round-up from Instagram – I love them all! 🙂

And my own blanket went outside on a sunny Bank Holiday Monday earlier in the week! 🙂 🙂

So here goes and remember it’s UK crochet terminology-  dtr: double treble. At the end of Row 81 you should have joined with a new colour and made 4ch which counts as the first dtr (double treble) of this next row

Row 82 3dtr into st at base of turning chain, *miss 3 sts, 1dc in next st, miss 3 sts, 7dtr in next st, repeat from * to end, miss 2 sts, 1dc in final st joining with a new colour at end of st, 4ch, turn (22 shells and 1 half shell)
Row 83 2dtr into st at base of turning chain, *miss 3 sts, 1dc in next st, miss 3 sts, 7dtr in next st, repeat from * to end, miss 3 sts, 1dc in final st joining with a new colour at end of st, 4ch, turn (22 shells and 1 half shell)

In this next row we are crocheting into the BACK LOOP (BL) only of each stitch around the shell from Row 83 so the shell is more pronounced. We’re crocheting into the middle stitch between the shells as normal going under both loops.

Row 84 1tr in BL of next 2 sts, 1htr in BL of next st, 1dc in BL of next st, 1htr in BL of next st, 1tr in BL of next 2 sts, 1dtr in next st going through st as normal, continue with *(2tr, 1htr, 1dc, 1htr, 2tr) going in BL of sts and 1dtr in next st going through st as normal, repeat from * to end, the final st will be a htr, 3ch, turn (180 sts)
Row 85 1tr in each st to end, join with a new colour at end of final st, 3ch, (counts as first tr of next row), turn

And here’s a photo in which I just about managed to get the entire blanket in!

I also have some VERY exciting news to share… I’m the designer for the June edition of Little Box of Crochet!! I’ve been a huge fan for ages so to have been given the opportunity to design for a Box is a little dream come true!! And just look at the box which Amanda and her team have come up with – I can’t stop looking at it!! It’s perfect! IMG_7026Subscriptions are open on 1st June over on their website… boxes are posted out towards the end of June so you’ll have to wait to see what’s inside! 🙂

Happy Crocheting! 🙂 🙂

  3. Congratulations on the monthly box Eleonora – that must have been a lot of fun to be involved with! Your blanket is looking wonderful too. I’m all up to date too 🙂

  4. For the first time I made a mistaken in Row 84 . I missed out that I had to make a DTR in the middle and skipped that st. I love the pattern and go on now, made the row again and now the right. Greetings from Holland
