Seaside Stash Busting Blanket – Week 19

IMG_6287

The weeks keep flying by and week 19 of our Blanket is here! We start with a couple more rows of ‘V Stitch’ and end with some shells… yes the shells are back!

But first here’s the usual round-up of blankets being shared over on Instagram

It’s lovely to see that many blankets are being taken outside for some gorgeous photos!

And this time the colours I’ve chosen for my two rows of ‘V Stitch’ remind me of campfires on the beach! 🔥🔥🔥 My blanket has already been round a campfire – and so has Jill’s @jillsbooksandhooks and Sharon’s @thewoolyflamingo – they’ve shared photos of their blankets nearby too…

So at the end of Row 77 you should have joined with a new colour and made 3 ch which counts as the first tr of this next row… remember it’s UK crochet terminology and dtr: double treble (US treble)

Row 78 Miss 1 st, continue with (2tr in-between the sts from previous row) to end, 1tr in final st, join with a new colour at end of final st, 3ch, turn (89 groups of 2tr with 1 tr at each side)

Row 79 Repeat Row 78, join with a new colour at end of final st, 4ch (counts as first dtr of next row), turn

And now for the shells… 🙂

Remember I did a YouTube Tutorial for these when we did these first time round…

Row 80 3dtr into st at base of turning chain, *miss 3 sts, 1dc in next st, miss 3 sts, 7dtr in next st, repeat from * to end, miss 2 sts, 1dc in final st joining with a new colour at end of st, 4ch, turn (22 shells and 1 half shell)
Row 81 2dtr into st at base of turning chain, *miss 3 sts, 1dc in next st, miss 3 sts, 7dtr in next st, repeat from * to end, miss 3 sts, 1dc in final st joining with a new colour at end of st, 4ch, turn (22 shells and 1 half shell)

And that’s it for this week… Enjoy! 🙂

  1. I think I must have had my head buried in the sand for the last 19 weeks! This is so beautiful I just don’t know how I missed it. A couple of questions… Is it far too late to start from week 1? As it may take me some time to catch up (maybe 19 weeks plus lol) will the pattern be available after you’ve all finished your wonderful creations ?

    1. Hi Rae… lovely that you have stumbled across my blog! It’s not too late at all! People are joining all the time. At only 4 rows per week we’re going slowly so there really is plenty of time to catch up! Someone just told me that they caught up in 18 days doing 4 rows per day!! No pressure and no rush as yes I intend to keep all the instructions up on my blog indefinitely! 🙂 🙂

      1. Eleonora, Oh thank you for that…excited now as I’m off to sort my stash ….yey!

      1. If I crocheted I would have joined in! And as a bonus it would be depleting my stash so I could start again! Meanwhile ….. I have a ‘collection’ of yarn, rather than stash!
