Seaside Stash Busting Blanket – Week 18

Week 18 is here! 😊 And we start this week with one more ‘Long Wave’ before we end with a couple of rows of ‘V-Stitch’…

But first the usual round-up. Yet again I’m in awe of all the creativity… not only in the amazing and unique colour combinations but also in the fantastic ways these blankets are being photographed! The central photo was taken in Korea which is just amazing…

I’m sure lots of you probably saw this last ‘long wave’ coming! 😆🌊🌊🌊

So at the end of Row 73 you should have joined with a new colour and made 1ch which counts as the first dc (US sc) of this next row… as usual, remember it’s UK crochet terminology…😊

Row 74 1htr in next 2 sts, continue with (2tr, 3dtr, 2tr, 2htr, 3dc, 2htr) and repeat to end, the final st will be a htr, 1ch, (counts as first dc of next row- you may want to put a stitch marker in this ch so it is easier to recognise when crocheting back into it after next row), turn

Row 75 1dc in each st to end, join with a new colour at end of final st, 3ch (counts as first tr of next row), turn

And now it’s a couple of rows of ‘V-Stitch’ – I gave a little thought as to what these rows could represent in my seaside journey and I’ve chosen deck chairs at the seaside! 🙂 Those ‘V’s’ can be like the frame of a deck chair and of course the red and white are such traditional deckchair colours!

But this old deckchair of ours is striped with pink, green and orange so anything goes and choose whatever colours you like! 😆

Row 76 Miss next st, 2tr in next st, continue with (miss 1 st, 2tr in next st) to end finishing with 1 tr in final st of row and join with a new colour at end of final st, 3ch, turn (89 groups of 2tr with 1 tr at each side)

We are now creating V’s so inserting hook inbetween the sts from previous row…

Row 77 Miss 1 st, continue with (2tr in-between the sts from previous row) to end, 1tr in final st, join with a new colour at end of final st, 3ch, turn
