An Exciting Moment…

It was an exciting moment for me when the new issue of Simply Crochet Magazine popped through our letterbox and landed on the doormat! I actually felt quite overwhelmed (in a good way!) For not only do I have a design published in there but I’m also mentioned in the contributors section and have a full back page feature too!! For me that’s just so exciting! 🙂 🙂

I designed these trims which can be used for all kinds of edgings or borders…

As always when designing for magazines, these were on my hooks many months ago and I hadn’t seen them since sending them in. So to see them in print and attached to some jeans as intended is really great. 🙂

I’d been contacted by the magazine quite a few weeks ago to say they wanted a photo and a quote for the contributors section. What to use as a quote?! That became quite a family discussion with all kinds of suggestions flying around…

…until I settled with “Oh I do like to crochet beside the seaside!” 🙂 Of course I could have said “crochet makes me happy”, or “i love crochet” or “crochet has taken over my life – in  a good way!” but somehow the fun quote which my husband actually suggested (!!) seems to sum it up and link back to my coastal inspired themes… 🙂

And finally the most overwhelming moment was when I turned to the back page and saw that I was in the ‘Hooky Treasure’ feature! I’d previously been approached by the magazine to take part in the feature but I didn’t know which issue of the magazine it would be in, so to have it in issue 71 together with a design, is pretty special! And my Dad said the loveliest thing when I told him – he said “you know you’ve arrived when you’re on the back page in a magazine!’ 🙂 That was special… xx

IMG_6519I was asked to share my most precious crochet make and the story behind it. Well it just had to be this one…

This project is so special to me in so many ways which is what I talk about in the article… I am so happy with the write up! 🙂 🙂

Happy Crocheting Everyone… 🙂 🙂
