Seaside Stash Busting Blanket – Week 17

IMG_6285

Week 17 is upon us – wow! 🙂 Has it really been more than 4 months that this blanket has been slowly growing on our hooks. My stash is certainly going down – I’m even running low on some colours now!

Here’s the weekly round-up of blankets from Instagram – aren’t they all brilliant? The difference in colours is amazing… all so unique which is what I love! 🙂

And it’s probably no surprise to many of you what rows were coming this week- yes it’s more ‘long waves’! 🌊🌊🌊

So at the end of Row 69 you should have made 1ch which counts as the first dc (US sc) of this next row.

Remember I use UK terminology… dtr=double treble (US treble), tr=treble (US double crochet), htr= half treble (US half double), dc=double crochet (US single crochet).

Row 70 1htr in next 2 sts, continue with (2tr, 3dtr, 2tr, 2htr, 3dc, 2htr) and repeat to end, the final st will be a htr, 1ch, (counts as first dc of next row- you may want to put a stitch marker in this ch so it is easier to recognise as a stitch when crocheting back into it after next row), turn.

(Remember at the end of row 70 that the final stitch to crochet into is that little 1 ch we made at the end of row 68)

Row 71 1dc in each st to end, join with a new colour at end of final st, 4ch (counts as first dtr of next row), turn

Row 72 1tr in next 2 sts, continue with (2htr, 3dc, 2htr, 2tr, 3dtr, 2tr) and repeat to end, the final st will be a tr, 1ch (counts as first dc of next row- you may want to put a stitch marker in this ch so it is easier to recognise as a stitch when crocheting back into it after next row), turn

(and remember at the end of row 72 that the final stitch to crochet into is that little 1 ch we made at the end of row 70)

Row 73 1dc in each st to end, join with a new colour at end of final st, 1ch (counts as first dc of next row- again you may want to put a stitch marker in this ch so it is easier to recognise when crocheting back into it after next row), turn

And that’s another week complete- Happy Crocheting Everyone! 🙂 🙂

  1. Hello! These are all gorgeous blankets!! I am wanting to make the Seaside Stash blanket but as a smaller version and am wondering if it can be done with just an even number of stitches.
    Thank you!

    1. Hi Kathy… I haven’t based this pattern on a stitch multiple. As I designed it as we went, I adjusted each row to keep consistent with my 180 sts. But many people are doing it smaller or bigger…. so long as you keep consistent with your chosen stitch count and adjust the turning chains accordingly (as you may start and end with a different stitch to me) it will work… good luck! 😊❤️
