Seaside Stash Busting Blanket – Week 7

IMG_3534How the weeks are flying by (for me they certainly are 😉 ) – we’re now onto week 7 of our blanket!

And we’re going to repeat some rows which we did earlier on in the blanket.

But first here’s a round up of this weeks creations being shared over on Instagram

And this week I must also give an extra special mention to Tracey from Yarn and Pencil Just look at what she designed and made inspired by the first few weeks of the blanket!!

….a jumper for her granddaughter! Isn’t it amazing!! 😊❤️

We’re actually crocheting five rows this week because the first three rows, like before, are a set of three which combined give the lovely effect with the coloured strip in the middle.

Remember I use UK crochet terminology…

So at the end of Row 25 you should have made 3ch ready to start this next row and it counts as your first stitch. I am using the same colour as Row 25 for these next rows but it’s up to you if you want to change…

Row 26 – 28 is a repeat of Rows 11 – 13 and remember I did a YouTube Tutorial for these rows to help if needed…

Row 26 1tr in each st to end, DO NOT cut yarn at end of row but do join with a new colour at end of final st, NO turning ch, turn
Row 27 1tr in next st, continue with (1ss in next st, 1tr in next st) and repeat to end, fasten off yarn, DO NOT turn work
Row 28 Go back to beginning of Row 27 and pick up / re-join the yarn used in Row 26, 3ch (counts as first st), continue with 1tr in each st to end, join with a new colour at end of final st, 3ch (counts as first tr of next row), turn

Row 29 Miss first st, 2tr in next st, continue with (miss 1 st, 2tr in next st) to end finishing with 1 tr in final st of row and join with a new colour at end of final st, 3ch, turn (89 groups of 2tr with 1 tr at each side)

This next row is to create ‘V stitches’ like in our very first rows…

Row 30 Miss first st, continue with (2tr in-between the sts from previous row) to end, 1tr in final st, 1ch, turn

And that’s another week!

Hope you all have a good week ahead… till next time- Happy Crocheting! 🙂 🙂

  1. Yay! I’m having so much fun with this and am doing my rows WAY too quickly so I have to tap my fingers and wait for the next week…but that’s a good thing!
    Thanks 🙂

  2. I’m late to this party and fairly new at crochet, so forgive me if I read something wrong. Am I supposed to change colors at the end of row 30?
