It’s been a beautiful crisp and sunny day here on the South Coast of England. The perfect day on which to publish my ‘Sunshine Cowl’ pattern!
Here’s the link to my Ravelry and Etsy stores where you are able to purchase the crochet pattern for this cowl. And here’s the story behind my design…
This is a simple design using just one 50g ball of Scheepjes Stonewashed 4ply. I really love this yarn and wanted to design something which used just one ball.
For the International Diploma in Crochet I had to provide a sample of ‘an open fabric based on the treble family’. Well playing around with my hook this is what I came up with…
So a sample of crochet is great but what could I use it for in my designs? I always look to design something that is wearable and comfortable, not just something that looks good. And I think this cowl ticks all those boxes. It’s on trend in the sunshine yellow colour, it’s practical, comfortable and pretty wearable I think. 🙂
So there you have it, something to brighten the winter days…my sunshine cowl. 🙂 🙂
And thank you to my daughter for being a fabulous model as always… 🙂 🙂
That is lovely, and beautiful colour! I think I might try this pattern! 😊
Thank you Kasia! 😊❤️
Just what I needed to see, now it’s already getting dark 🙂
Awww, thanks Hannah… yes it’s suddenly getting dark so quickly that any bit of sunshine is great! 🌞🌞🌞
It’s beautiful, but also being yellow looks a bit like a waffle – which makes it appeal to me even more 🙂
Yay! That’s brilliant Bekki… I hadn’t seen a waffle in it but I’m happy I do now! 😊😊❤️xx
