My design in ‘Simply Crochet’ Magazine…

Well this is a happy blog post for me and a bit of a celebratory moment… because I have a design published in this months ‘Simply Crochet Magazine’! 🙂 🙂 🙂 I love this magazine, having bought the 4th issue back in 2013 and then every issue since… so to have one of my own designs featured is a little dream come true! 🙂

For those of you lovely people who have followed my blog since day one you’ll know I was on a journey with my crochet and this feels like a pretty monumental  milestone on that journey! 🙂

I feel that I can really call myself a crochet designer now!

So here’s my ‘Rough Diamonds’ tote bag which is in the bag supplement…

Designing for magazines is very different to designing for myself…

For starters there’s the timing. My design proposal for this bag was submitted back in April and then I had until June to submit the finished sample and pattern. And now we’re halfway through September so that bag left my hooks a long time ago…

There’s also the secrecy which is totally understandable.  I was not allowed to share any progress photos on my blog or Instagram and when it’s finished there’s many months before I can finally share it…

To see my name in print in my favourite magazine alongside my own design is very special indeed!

Thanks so much for all your support…I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again- this blog is a huge motivator for me and my crochet! 🙂

Happy Crocheting Everyone…

  1. Congratulations, Eleonora, on achieving such a notable milestone. I am thrilled for you. The Rough Diamond bag is a brilliant pattern – have read it all the way through and intend to make it. Great photos too – it looks so professional. Your blog and fabulously successful projects are my motivators at present so keep up the good work. Love Jenny xx 🌸🌸

  2. Totally awesome! I’m so happy more people get to see all the creative talent you have, and bonus for us that you’re willing to share your talent.
    Rock on 🤙

  3. Well done! I love it when designers make contemporary crochet look so up to date and desirable whilst still respecting the craftsmanship of the skill. This ticks all the boxes. You should be very proud of the outcome. I have enjoyed reading your blog from the start of your journey and I look forward to continuing. You have made some lovely things…beautifully!

  4. You must be prouder of this than achieving your first IDC certificate! Getting published isn’t easy – I tried getting an article printed based on the history project I did for part 1 of IDC. I approached four magazines, and only one showed interest. But then it never happened, due to the cost of sourcing images! Disappointed! Hope you get more patterns published soon – you deserve it for all your hard work and enthusiasm!

    1. Thank you so much! Yes, it feels like a big achievement…but as you say so was getting the IDC part 1 certificate!! You have been there since the start of my journey and I really appreciate your encouragement- Thank you! 🙂 🙂

  5. OMG 😲 Ele that’s gorgeous bag and amazing recognition for you! I’m so happy for you!!!! I hope there will be much more amazing things to follow and even bigger success to come!!!!
    ❤️

  6. Congratulations!! It feels fabulous doesn’t it?! And there’s a sense of validation too. Although that isn’t what it’s about. It is still reassuring to know that others enjoy your work as much as you do. Hope that makes sense! xx
