Crochet Campfire

I had so much fun designing and making this for Hobbycraft who wanted a crocheted campfire for a photo shoot they were planning…

I have written more about it and the design process in a previous blog post which you can find here

Enjoy! 🙂 🙂

    1. Hah ha! My thoughts exactly Bekki, but since posting pictures of it I’ve had a surprising amount of people saying they want to make one! Pre-school and infant classes seem to be popular, as do people who want it who haven’t got an actual fireplace!! 🙂 🙂

  1. Really nice of you to share this pattern! Came across your blog via the WordPress reader for my blog dozedinedawdle.wordpress.com. Taught myself to crochet doll clothes last year for my granddaughter. Look forward to reading your previous blog posts and seeing more of your projects!

  2. I’m going to make this for my mom’s camper! She loves going camping and I think it’ll make a great pillow type thing! Such a cute design!

  3. I am going to make this for my Girlguide unit. We often plan a camp fire and the good old British weather lets us down and we have to move inside.
    My guides will love it

      1. Thank you! 😊
I found you via google when searching for a crochet campfire pattern. Your pattern is perfect for what i need! Thanks again for clarifying!

  4. Hi Eleonora, I love your crochet campfire and have made it.It was such an easy pattern. I so enjoyed crocheting it. All the sewing up was easy too, but I’m having a problem putting the flames together to get them to stand freely. Please, have you any advice on how you did it?

    1. Hi Jan… happy to hear you’ve enjoyed crocheting this! 😊❤️🔥 The flames are lightly filled with stuffing… I put more stuffing to the base of the flames to give it a wider base… join the flames together but you don’t need to necessarily join them at the bottoms so that there is generally a wider base for them to be free standing. Hope that makes sense!

  5. Beautiful pattern! I just am struggling with understanding what it means to dc into stitch at base of the turning chain?

    1. Hi Megan… it just means the very first stitch. Because the turning chain counts as a stitch this is actually making an increase. You have the 1 ch turning chain plus a dc in that first st … hope that makes sense! 💙
