I am super excited and so pleased that I can finally reveal my ‘Coastal Wall Hanging’ which I designed for the Hobbycraft blog (yay!☺)
Here’s the pattern…

I’ve been bursting to share this with you all! Hobbycraft approached me at the beginning of January and asked if I would design something for their blog and be featured in their ‘Meet the Maker’ section. Of course I was more than happy to oblige! 🙂
So what to design…well I wanted to keep my design simple and make sure it represented ‘Coastal Crochet’, drawing my inspiration as always from the coast and sea. And the result is this Coastal Wall Hanging – five crocheted coastal shapes designed to hang from a piece of driftwood…
I had to choose a yarn that was available through Hobbycraft and I chose Patons Smoothie DK as it’s a smooth acrylic yarn which has a similar look and feel to cotton, giving the same stitch definition, but without the price tag. It was also available in colours which combined had a coastal feel to them.Of course each motif could be used in so many other ways too…
I hope you like it as much as I do – I had loads of fun designing this…
Thanks so much for looking and Happy Crocheting… 🙂 🙂
I already saw that on Insta before, I really love this idea! I’m making an “under the sea” blanket for my best friend and I’ll definitely be making this fishy! So cute!
Thank you Emma… your ‘under the sea’ blanket sounds fantastic! 😊💕🌊🌊
I love, love, love this! Well done for being featured, you must be so proud! I’m very tempted to have a go at it myself although I don’t think I could do it justice. Xxx
Awww, thank you Vicki- that’s so kind of you to say! Yes, I’m really happy to have been featured on their site! I’m sure you’d do the coastal wall hanging justice – give it a go! 🌊💙😊
Congratulations! It’s really beautiful, great job. Thanks for the heads up about the patons yarn too, sometimes acrylic is just too fuzzy!
Thank you so much, I appreciate that – and yes, I didn’t want the fuzziness either but this acrylic is pretty good…😊💕💙
I love this. I would love something like this in my little girls room, just wish I could crochet that well!
Thank you so much!😊 Give it a go- it’s actually quite a simple design that I’m sure you could do…😊💕🌊🌊
Fabulous project. I especially like the beach hut
Thank you so much Cathy- I love the beach hut too…💕🌊🌊💙🏖
Fantastic
Thank you so much…😊💕🌊🌊
How awesome! Congratulations! This is such an interesting piece – I love how it takes the art of crochet away from just scarfs and blankets and really showcases how the sky is the limit (or the ocean!) with how creative crocheting can be! 😀
Thank you so much Tami- so kind of you to say! And yes, there are no limits to what crochet can achieve!!😉💕🌊🌊😊
Love it
Thank you so much…😊🌊🌊❤
Well done! They’re all so gorgeous, but I think the cute little fishy is my favourite
Thank you so much, very kind of you to say 😊❤ – that fish is so simple and yes I love it too…🌊🌊
Thank you so much, that’s really kind of you to say 😊…that fish is so simple! I love it too…😊🌊🌊
That is so cute! I will have to try it! Thanks so much!
Thank you so much! It would be great if you gave it a go…good luck! 😊💕
Eleonara. This is fantastic. Your eye for design and creation is very clever. I had a read through the pattern and am sure anyone could master your creations as the pattern is so simply and precisely written, I have been crocheting for a few years now and love it when crochet takes over people’s life. So many patterns out there have errors or are overly complicated which I think puts people off thinking they could ever do it. You have truly cracked it and cant wait wait to see what you design for us to create next.
Thank you , Truly inspired 😊
Hello Sarah, Thank you so much- I really appreciate those kind words and your positive feedback! I too have been frustrated in the past with inconsistencies in some crochet patterns and have therefore tried hard to make mine simple and clear to understand. I’m so pleased to hear that I might just have achieved that. Thanks for taking the time to get in touch, very best wishes, Eleonora 😊💕
Super cute! And so lovely to be approached. Well done you 🙂
Awww, thanks Bekki…😊 yes it’s been a lovely experience…💕
This is beautiful and perfect for any home by the sea. What a great idea to incorporate driftwood, too. Congratulations on your Meet the Maker feature!
Thank you so much Sheila- I’m pretty excited about the whole thing… 🙂 :)xx
So cute! Would look lovely as a decoration in a children’s bedroom too.
Yes indeed! Thank you so much … 🙂
Simple, yet simply GORGEOUS!
