Writing this blog is so good for me. Let me explain…
If I didn’t have a goal of writing a blog post once a week I wouldn’t have crocheted these Easter egg decorations yesterday evening…
My main crochet project currently continues to be my Tunisian crochet shawl but I didn’t want to bore you all with it’s slow progress! So thinking ahead towards the Easter weekend (a time which is special and I love) I thought I would crochet some Easter eggs which I could feature in a blog post. They were a quick and easy make. It isn’t my neatest crochet and I rushed them a little but they will look great on our Easter Tree…
And if I didn’t write this blog I wouldn’t have walked down to the beach before the school run this morning to take these photos and see a glorious sea. A moment of calm before the rush of the day.
It has become a family tradition of ours that every Easter Sunday we find a bare branch and adorn it with Easter decorations. Our very own ‘Easter Tree’. This is a sneak preview just to show you my crocheted Easter eggs. This Sunday we will go out and find a bigger branch (or branches) and many more decorations will be added.
We have been doing this for many years, ever since our children were very small, and over the years we have gathered quite a collection of decorations. Some homemade and some shop bought.
These decorative Easter egg wraps are great fun too. I used them in my childhood (the ‘Happy Eggs’ pack on the left is the actual pack I had as a child and only a few remain). We blow eggs and decorate them with these wraps which then get added to the Easter tree. And tasty scrambled egg on toast gets eaten!
A few years ago I knitted these egg covers. I can’t remember where the pattern was from but they are great fun and fit over a Cadbury’s Cream egg perfectly.
So as you can see, writing for a blog motivates me to crochet, motivates me to get out there and take photos and motivates me to share it with you! Thanks for reading and I wish you all a Happy Easter this weekend…

Sounds as though you need to keep up the blogging then 🙂 I love the egg cosies and the wrap and scrambled eggs with the insides sounds great. Josh has discovered a way of scrambling an egg in its shell so he makes himself a scrambled egg that way.

Yes, Josh has adapted it rather! he pricks the end of the egg right into the yolk and gives the pin a good wiggle. Then he puts sellotape over the hole and shakes and shakes it! He then boils it the normal way 🙂

What great Easter ideas. Those wraps are new to me and so adorable. What with all of our packing, I will really miss Easter decorations this year. I’ll just enjoy everyone else’s. Another reason why blogging is a good thing.

Awww thanks so much for those kind and encouraging words! There’s still time to crochet some little decorations-these didn’t take long at all. And it was a little rushed this morning, I have to say! My daughter ended up being just a few minutes late, but it was worth it 🙂

Lovely! The most exciting thing about Easter for me is the chocolate! I’m too lazy to decorate for Easter but I will hide some eggs around the house/garden for the boys to seek out.
I’ve made things just to have something to blog about, it absolutely is a good motivator. However, sometimes I’m on here when I should be getting my craft on!!
