My next submissions for the International Diploma in Crochet ask for two-coloured samples.
Here is my first one which is a piece without texture…
And here is the next one which I’m currently working on. The requirement is for a piece of two-coloured crochet which is also heavily textured. As you can see I’m not quite finished…
I got the crochet cable design from the fabulous website picot.com which I came across. http://www.mypicot.com/
So many fabulous crochet and knitting patterns! If you haven’t visited it before I really recommend it.
I’ve also just joined the huge Instagram community! It’s amazing to see so many crochet related photos on there and the huge amount of crochet projects and inspirations which are posted everyday! It’s keeping me away from the actual doing of crochet which I must be mindful of! 😉
If any of you are on Instagram then do follow me (coastalcrochet1)and I will look forward to following you in return. https://www.instagram.com/coastalcrochet1/
Oh and by the way, I received my feedback for the Darcey Dress and I got such positive comments! I’m so pleased and relieved!
Happy Crocheting Everyone 🙂
How interesting. I’ve never seen cables worked like that before! And thanks for the introduction to mypicot.com..
I hadn’t either! I’m not sure whether it will meet the necessary criteria for the sample but I certainly enjoyed the new technique 🙂
Even if it isn’t what is required (I don’t see why it wouldn’t be…) there’s nowt to stop you using the technique in a project. Bag springs to mind.. 🙂
Wow, love the cable crochet. You are so clever.👏💜
Thankyou! It’s really quite easy-very simple pattern but so effective! 🙂
ooh the cable is super cool! 🙂
They’re great aren’t they! Thanks 🙂
Samples look great. I didn’t expect anything else than praise on the darcy dress. That dress looks amazing. I joined instagram last week. It’s great to see so many creative photos, great source of inspiration. You have one more follower 😊
Thanks so much Natascha! Instagram can be quite inspiring but also addictive! I’m following you too! 🙂
Oh my you are so good now!
awww, that’s so sweet of you to say! Thank you 🙂
I’m glad your Darcey dress got good comments. Hope these do just as well.
Thanks so much Norma! These samples didn’t take as long so I wouldn’t be too disappointed. I was so relieved about the dress! 🙂
More lovely samples 🙂 I have been toying with trying Instagram for a while now but I already spend far too long looking at Ravelry and other blogs, I’m not sure I’d get anything made!
Ha ha -that’s so true! Let me know if you decide to go ahead with Instagram! It is amazing the amount of crochet related images which are posted everyday! 🙂
By the way, I also love your new Gravatar logo! 🙂
Thank you!
Those cables are intriguing. They look great in two colors.
They’re really quite simple! 🙂
They are lovely, especially the cable one, there’s no mistaking that that is textured 🙂
Thanks Sharon 🙂
That was another one quick! Love the blue yarn and it looks lovely with the white in the pretty piece you’ve done.
Thankyou! 🙂
Hi! I’m Jenny and I have been following your beautiful blog for some time now while making my mind up about enrolling for the International Diploma in Crochet. Your samples and comments have been really enlightening and I have just started the course. Love your Darcey dress and these two samples look brilliant – I think you must be an excellent crocheter. Am hoping the course can improve my crochet techniques and accuracy … I’ve never tried Tunisien, Broomstick or Hairpin and they do scare me a bit. It is so helpful to see how others are doing.
Good luck with the next submission!
Jenny x
Hi Jenny, Great to hear from you! Thanks for getting in touch and for your kind words. I hope you enjoy the course. It certainly makes me crochet in ways I wouldn’t have before. I haven’t done the Tunisian, Hairpin or Broomstick samples yet -have been leaving them to the end as I share your fear! Stay in touch, I’d love to hear how you get on 🙂
